Apple is set to expand its footprint in India with the launch of its sixth official store on February 26 in Mumbai’s bustling Borivali neighborhood. This marks the second Apple Store in the city, underscoring the tech giant’s aggressive push into one of the world’s fastest-growing markets.
The new outlet draws design inspiration from the majestic ‘More’ tree, a motif previously featured in stores at Bengaluru’s Hebbal, Pune’s Koregaon Park, and Noida’s Sector 62. This aesthetic symbolizes confidence, creativity, and modernity, aligning perfectly with Apple’s brand ethos.
Opening to the public at 1 PM, the Borivali store will cater not just to everyday consumers but also to startups and businesses. Visitors can explore the latest Apple products, make purchases, and receive expert guidance from on-site specialists. The store will house dedicated teams including product specialists, creatives, and Genius Bar experts to assist with everything from device setup to troubleshooting.
A highlight will be the free ‘Today at Apple’ sessions, where customers can learn to maximize their devices’ potential, master creative skills, and even collaborate on innovative projects. This community-focused approach has been a hit in other locations, fostering loyalty among Indian users.
Apple’s growth in India has been nothing short of spectacular. CEO Tim Cook highlighted record revenues from the country during the October-December earnings call, with double-digit surges in emerging markets like India. The company opened its fifth store in December and is now doubling down on retail expansion.
Fiscal 2025 has been a banner year for Apple in India. iPhone sales skyrocketed by 24% year-over-year, while iPad sales saw a modest 2% uptick. The iPhone 16 series stole the show, capturing 57% of total iPhone sales and becoming the best-selling lineup of the year.
As Apple continues ramping up local manufacturing and retail presence, this new store signals even bigger ambitions. With India’s tech-savvy youth driving demand, expect Apple to solidify its dominance in the premium smartphone segment.
