In a strategic move, Airtel has discontinued its Rs 249 prepaid plan, following in the footsteps of Reliance Jio. This change affects users who preferred a cost-effective plan with daily data benefits. The Rs 249 plan offered 1GB of high-speed data each day, along with 100 SMS messages and unlimited voice calls. Subscribers also received free access to Xstream Play, Perplexity Pro AI, and free HelloTunes. The plan included a 24-day validity period and offered free AI access until January 2026. Users previously subscribed to the Rs 249 plan now have to consider the Rs 299 plan which is the next available plan.
