New Delhi, February 16. In a resounding endorsement of India’s rising stature in artificial intelligence, Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha declared at the AI Impact Summit 2026 that the event has firmly etched the nation onto the global AI map. Chadha’s address highlighted how the summit is shaping critical discussions on AI governance, development, and its deployment for public good.

Chadha emphasized that AI has transcended its roots as a mere technological innovation, evolving into a pivotal strategic asset. ‘Countries with robust computing power and infrastructure will dominate the coming decades,’ he asserted, underscoring the geopolitical stakes involved.

He pointed out that processing capacity and digital infrastructure will be the decisive factors in determining AI-era leadership. Chadha drew attention to the monopolistic control in AI design, concentrated production in select regions, and export restrictions driven by policies like those in the US, which limit global access.

While acknowledging India’s lag in controlling these three pillars—design, production, and supply chains—Chadha spotlighted the country’s unparalleled human capital. ‘The world is turning to India for AI professionals and skilled talent,’ he said, but cautioned that talent alone won’t suffice.

To compete globally, India must secure access to high-end computing resources, diversify supply chains, and build resilient domestic infrastructure, Chadha urged. Drawing a historical parallel, he compared AI and semiconductor manufacturing to oil, gas, and steel of the 20th century, which defined global power dynamics.

‘In the 21st century, these technologies will redefine geopolitical influence,’ Chadha warned, calling for decisive actions to secure India’s place in this new world order. The summit, he concluded, marks a turning point for India’s ambitious AI journey.
