NEW DELHI: India on Saturday slammed the USA Fee on Global Non secular Freedom (USCIRF) for its “biased” and “misguided” feedback at the nation.
The sturdy response from the Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) got here an afternoon after the USCIRF alleged “repression” of important voices, particularly non secular minorities and the ones reporting on and advocating for them in India.
“We now have noticed the biased and misguided feedback on India by means of the USA Fee on Global Non secular Freedom (USCIRF),” MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi mentioned.
He mentioned the feedback mirror a “serious lack of knowledge” of India and its constitutional framework, its plurality and its democratic ethos.
“Regrettably, USCIRF continues to misrepresent info again and again in its statements and stories in pursuance of its motivated time table. Such movements simplest serve to give a boost to issues concerning the credibility and objectivity of the organisation,” Bagchi mentioned.
He was once replying to media queries on USCIRF’s feedback on India.
