Step son murdered elderly mother

The dead body of an elderly woman was found in a pond in village Dhanpur Baigapara of Khadganwa area of ​​Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district. According to the information received from the police, the elderly woman used to walk around with a stick. On March 8, while going home after drinking alcohol with his nephew Naihar, Lal Sai's step mother Sumaria was found lying on the road, who was calling her step son for help. Laalsay, who was under the influence of alcohol and said that he had repeatedly fallen down, along with his nephew Naihar, killed his stepmother by pressing her nose and mouth with the cap he was wearing, and threw her body in the pond behind the house after tying it with a stone.

Sudeep Upadhyay, Balrampur. The forest department has got a big success in the case of death of an elephant in village Mendhari of Wadrafnagar forest range of the district. Forest staff has arrested an accused who killed an elephant by applying 11 KV current. Other accused involved in the murder are still absconding and are being traced. The accused had applied electric current for the purpose of hunting wild animals.

A group of 34 elephants have been roaming in Wadrafnagar area for about a month. Out of which one elephant died due to electrocution on March 11. After information about the incident, the forest department team reached the spot. In the presence of officials, a team of doctors conducted the post-mortem of the elephant’s body and buried it there. In this case, the crime was registered and taken up for investigation and what came to light during the interrogation was that some accused were involved. One of the accused, Jaisingh alias Khiru, father of Chamru, resident of village Mendhari, has been arrested and sent on judicial demand.

In this case, Forest SDO Anil Singh Paikra said that after interrogating the accused, it was found that for hunting wild boar, wires were laid by hooking them with 11KV line. But the elephant got stuck in it and died. Wire and other materials laid for hunting have been confiscated. Regular patrolling is being done by the employees of forest range Wadrafnagar and the elephant friend team. Villagers have been advised to maintain distance from elephants.
