  • ‘Rahul Gandhi Can Become Prime Minister But Of Pakistan’: Himanta Biswa Sarma |

Assam Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma has been campaigning for the party candidates across states and has been quite vocal about why the NDA is vying for over 400 seats in this Lok Sabha Elections. Addressing a public meeting in Bihar’s Siwan, Sarma said that if the NDA gets 400 seats, it would not only fulfil the promise of the Uniform Civil Code but will also end ‘the business of marrying four times’. Indirectly referring to Madrasas, Sarma said that the NDA government will also ‘shut down shops that produce mullas’. He said that the ‘new India’ led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not need madrassas but modern institutions that produce doctors and engineers.

The Assam CM also added that there won’t be any reservations based on religion and the NDA government would end Muslim reservations. Sarma also said that grand temples would be built in Varanasi and Mathura if the NDA returns to power by winning over 400 Lok Sabha seats.

He was indirectly referring to Gyanvapi row in Varanasi and Shahi Idgah row in Mathura. The Assam CM said the NDA, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will ensure that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, which is an integral part of India, returns to the country.

    — Himanta Biswa Sarma (Modi Ka Parivar) (@himantabiswa) May 18, 2024

Invoking the Ram Temple to slam Congress and RJD, Sarma said, “Rahul Gandhi and Lalu Prasad did not attend the consecration of Ram Mandir. They want to send Ram Lalla back to the tent. We must not let this happen.”

Slamming the INDIA bloc over reservations based on religion, Sarma said, “Religion-based reservations should be given to Muslims in Pakistan, not India. Lalu Prasad should go to Pakistan to give reservations to Muslims. The NDA will not allow this at any cost.”

Hitting out at Rahul Gandhi’s PM ambition, Sarma said that the Congress leader can contest elections in Pakistan and become PM there. Sarma also alleged that besides putting up its own candidates, Congress and RJD are also backing Independent candidates in certain seats against BJP nominees.

  • ‘Hell Bent On Ending Reservation, Democracy And Constitution’: Lalu Yadav Warns People Against BJP |

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: RJD supremo and former Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav today launched a scathing attack against the BJP alleging that the saffron party is ‘hell-bent on ending reservation and democracy’. Taking to social media amid the Lok Sabha campaign, Lalu Yadav warned people against voting for the BJP.

“Dear countrymen, Be alert and cautious! BJP is hell-bent on ending your reservation, democracy and constitution of the country. If the constitution of the country does not remain, then democracy will also not remain in the country. You will not remain equal citizens of the country. You will not remain citizens who have rights, constitutional protection and remedies. You will remain just slaves of a few people,” said the RJD chief.

The RJD is contesting the Lok Sabha polls as a part of the INDIA bloc which consists of Congress and the Left party in Bihar. The NDA consists of the BJP, LJP-RV, JDU, RLM and HAM.

Lalu Yadav further said, “If there is a constitution, then there is a reservation and if there is a reservation, then there is protection from inequality, oppression and tyranny. There is a sense of equality, there is a remedy. The BJP’s conduct is anti-equality by nature. These people want to increase inequality in society by abolishing the constitution and reservation and make people mental slaves again.”

    — Lalu Prasad Yadav (@laluprasadrjd) May 16, 2024

The RJD leader further claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi never took action against the BJP leaders who claimed that their party would end democracy and make a new constitution.

“It is clear that they (BJP leaders) have deliberately got a green signal from the top leadership of the BJP. Through such statements, BJP people test your seriousness, awareness and commitment towards reservation and constitution.  If you do not contribute today in the fight to save the Constitution, reservation and democracy, then you and your future generations will live the same vicious cycle of oppression and neglect that your ancestors once lived through,” warned Lalu Yadav.

Lalu Yadav further urged people to participate enthusiastically in this festival of democracy and ‘teach a tough lesson to the anti-Constitution and anti-reservation BJP’.

  • Purnia Lok Sabha Seat: Pappu Yadav’s Independent Bid Sets Tone For Triangular Contest With RJD’s Bima Bharti And JDU’s Santosh Kumar |

New Dekhi: Purnia has emerged as one of the most prominent constituencies among the 40 Lok Sabha seats of Bihar. The northern state of Bihar is going to polls in all 7 phases and the results will be counted on June 4. Purnia district has one of the highest Muslim populations with approximately 6.5 lakh voters. The seat has around 1.5 lakh Yadav, 3.5 lakh Kushwaha and around 1.5 lakh upper caste voters. Purnia parliamentary constituency is going to take place in the second phase on April 26 as the Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced.

In the ongoing Lok Sabha Election, Purnia has become a hot seat after the INDIA alliance in Bihar fielded RJD candidate Beema Bharti ignoring Pappu Yadav, who later filed his nominations as an independent candidate. On the other hand, NDA has re-nominated JD(U) sitting MP Santosh Kumar from the seat.

    Tejashwi’s INDIA vs NDA Pitch

During the Purnia rally, RJD leader Tejashvi Yadav urged the crowd to support his party candidate Beema Bharati and said there is a direct fight between the INDIA alliance and NDA. “Choose INDIA bloc, and if you do not choose INDIA’s Bima Bharti, then choose the NDA. Saaf Baat! Saaf Baat!” he said.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha Election, JD(U) candidate Santosh Kumar secured a victory against Congress candidate Uday Singh Alias Pappu Singh. Kumar had bagged 6,32,924 votes while Singh had polled 3,69,463 votes. In 2014, the contest was between the same candidates with Kumar emerging as the winner. That time, the JDU had got 4,18,826 votes while Pappu Singh had received 3,02,157 votes. In 2019, Kumar increased his vote share by around 13 per cent.

  • ‘Will You Be There?’: Congress On Modi’s Claim To Host 2036 Olympics; AAP Terms BJP Manifesto A ‘Jumla’ |

New Delhi: The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on Sunday released its manifesto for the Lok Sabha Elections at an event in the party’s Delhi headquarters. Dubbed ‘Sankalp Patra,’ the manifesto focuses on the upliftment of women, youth, farmers and the poor. While the BJP pronounced the manifesto as revolutionary, the opposition has begun criticising the manifesto’s ambitious objectives.

    Manifesto Lacks Credibility: Congress

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge commented on the BJP releasing its election manifesto, stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously promised to double farmers’ income and provide a legal guarantee for increasing the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Kharge while talking to the media expressed skepticism, “This is the guarantee. He didn’t do any big work in his tenure that would benefit all the people of the country. The youth are looking for jobs. Inflation is rising. He is not worried about any of those….” He further concluded that the manifesto lacks credibility, suggesting that it demonstrates Modi’s lack of substantive solutions for the populace.

When questioned about BJP’s ‘Mission 50 in South India’, Karnataka Home Minister and Congress leader, G Parameshwara responded, stating that they have a nationwide mission to counter the BJP.

Congress leader Pawan Khera accused the BJP of shifting goalposts. “They (BJP) have written in the manifesto that they’ll host the 2036 Olympics, where you’ll be, will you be there in the govt? You should give the account of 5 years… They lie with so much clarity but now that they have lied so much that no one trusts them.”

    Jumla Patra: AAP’s Atishi

At a press conference, Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi commented on the BJP’s manifesto, highlighting concerns about unemployment among youth and the significant increases in the prices of LPG cylinders and diesel. She noted the financial strain faced by every household and expressed disbelief towards the BJP’s manifesto, referring to it as the ‘Jumla Patra’, suggesting that it would fail to garner trust from the public.

BJP Forgotten About Youth, Famers: Tejashwi Yadav

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that, BJP manifesto lacks any mention of jobs, employment, inflation reduction, or addressing issues like unemployment and poverty. It fails to address the concerns of 60% of the country’s youth, 80% of farmers, and over 6.4 lakh villages. Moreover, it overlooks the development of backward and poor states, as well as the states with the highest representation in the Lok Sabha.

In their manifesto they have completely forgotten about jobs, employment, youth, farmers, young men and villages.

No New Provision For MSP: Sarwan Singh Pandher

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher shared his take on the BJP manifesto with the news agency PTI, “After four rounds of discussions with the Centre concerning the ongoing farmers’ protest, they expressed commitments to address longstanding issues. However, the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ lacks any new provisions regarding essential matters such as enacting MSP laws, setting crop prices based on C2-50, and alleviating farmers’ debts,” he added.

  • ‘She Is Daydreaming’: BJP Replies To RJD Leader Misa Bharti’s ‘PM Modi Will Go To Jail’ Warning |

NEW DELHI: In a swift rejoinder to the provocative remarks made by Misa Bharti, daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a scathing response, dismissing her statements as mere “daydreaming.” Misa Bharti recently sparked controversy by suggesting that if the opposition-led INDIA Alliance assumes power, all BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would face imprisonment. Hitting out at the BJP-led central government, Bharti had said, “We are talking about the implementation of MSP and he (PM Modi) sees appeasement in that. He always accuses our family of corruption whenever he arrives here (Bihar). If the people of this country give the INDIA alliance a chance (to form the government), then from PM Modi to BJP leaders, they will be behind bars.” Her assertion, deemed as a threat by the BJP, drew sharp criticism.

    BJP Replies To Misa Bharti

Reacting to Bharti’s remarks, Ravi Shankar Prasad, a prominent Bihar BJP leader, warned against such rhetoric, emphasizing that threatening the Prime Minister would not be tolerated. The BJP leader underscored the impending electoral outcome, confidently predicting victory surpassing 400 seats for their party. “If you threaten the Prime Minister, action will be taken. Stop daydreaming, the results will be out on June 4th, and it will surpass 400,” Prasad said.

#WATCH | Patna, Bihar: On RJD leader Dr Misa Bharti’s remark, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad says, “What has happened to Misa Bharti?…The woman who’s father (Lalu Yadav) has been convicted in the fodder scam…I warn her to not make such statements…You family is immeresed in… pic.twitter.com/5HbEwSCfs8

    BJP’s Counterattack On RJD

Notably, the BJP leader pointed out the irony of Bharti’s stance, highlighting the corruption charges against her father, Lalu Prasad Yadav. He cautioned Bharti against making unfounded statements, reminding her of her family’s tainted history. “What has happened to Misa Bharti? The woman’s father (Lalu Yadav) has been convicted in the fodder scam. I warn her not to make such statements. Your family is immersed in corruption,” he said.

    Electoral Dynamics In Bihar

As the electoral battleground heats up in Bihar, Misa Bharti finds herself pitted against BJP’s Ram Kripal Yadav in the Pataliputra constituency, setting the stage for a closely watched contest. With polling scheduled across seven phases, the state braces for a decisive electoral showdown.

Reflecting on past electoral outcomes, the BJP-led NDA emerged triumphant in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, clinching a dominant victory in Bihar. The coalition secured an overwhelming majority, overshadowing the opposition’s Mahagathbandhan.

    BJP’s Electoral Performance

In the previous elections, the BJP asserted its dominance by securing a substantial share of seats, consolidating its position as a formidable political force in Bihar. The party’s resounding victory underscored its growing influence and widespread support among voters.
