  • Ramayana Mahoutsav: Minute by Minute Coverage

    Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel reached the National Ramayana Festival organized at Ramlila Maidan, Raigarh.
    With the lines of “Ram Ram Jai Rajaram, Ram Ram Jai Sitaram”, the whole stage is full of joy, wonderful breeze of devotion.
    Chief Minister Mr. Baghel inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp and singing the state anthem of Chhattisgarh.

    On the inauguration of the festival, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was welcomed with a copy of Ramcharit Manas and a state pot.

    Chief Minister Mr. Baghel honored the Ramnami community.
    This community has dedicated its entire life to Ram.

    March Past Begins

    The Indonesian contingent is marching.
    Madhav Kandali is the author of the Assamese Ramayana, just as Kritivas composed the wonderful Ramayana in Bengali, similarly the Assamese Ramayana is deeply rooted in the folk tradition in Assam. The 21-member team has come from Assam.

    The artist team that came from Goa to Chhattisgarh also took part in the march past.
    A 25-member contingent from Jharkhand performed a march past with their traditional instruments and costumes. They are also wearing special masks.

    A 12-member troupe of artists has come from Kerala.
    A contingent from the neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh also participated in the march past. There are 25 members in this team.
    The troupe from Karnataka and the 18-member artist troupe from Maharashtra gave a wonderful presentation in the march past. Bajrangbali is walking ahead of them.
    Ravana is seen leading the Uttarakhand team. This wonderful tradition where even Rama sends Lakshmana to get knowledge from Ravana at the last moment so that Ravana can pass on his knowledge to Lakshmana at the time of his death.
    Chhattisgarh parties also had a beautiful presentation.
    270 participants from 12 states are taking part in this occasion. 70 artists from the state and 27 artists from abroad are included.

    Ramayana festival received great appreciation

    Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today inaugurated the National Ramayana Festival at Ramlila Maidan in Raigarh district. Not only people of Chhattisgarh but people of the whole country are connecting with the National Ramayana Festival organized in the state and today the National Ramayana Festival dominated the social media throughout the day. National Ramayana Festival trended on number 01 in various social media mediums and people highly appreciated the initiative of the state government to organize National Ramayana Festival.

    It is noteworthy that for the first time in Chhattisgarh, the ‘National Ramayana Festival’ is being organized from June 01 to 03 at the historic Ramlila Maidan in Raigarh. Devotional presentation on Ramkatha will be given by Ramayana troupes from Cambodia and Indonesia including 12 states of the country in this national festival. In the presentation of these Ramayana parties, a glimpse of the diverse national-global forms of Ramkatha of the omnipresent Lord Shriram is being seen.

    The competition of Ramayana parties has also started on the Aranya Kand of Ramayana. Along with this, nationally renowned artists will give their musical presentation in Bhajan Sandhya in the Mahotsav. Ramkatha’s uninterrupted sentiment will flow for three days in Ramlila Maidan. Ramayana teams from Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha, Assam, Goa, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are participating in this national festival. On the last day of the National Ramayana Festival, eminent Hindi poet Kumar Vishwas will extol the glory of Lord Shri Ram with his special performance ‘Apne-Apne Ram Music Night’.

    Teams of Ramkatha have also been formed in our villages.
    Ram belongs to everyone. Belongs to Nishadraj, belongs to Shabri. Everyone feels affinity with them.
    By writing a letter to the Chief Ministers of other states, we have asked for 2 acres of land for pilgrimage sites, so that our devotees can get facilities when they go there.

    Ramayana teams from 8 states will present on the second day
    Baba Hansraj Raghuvanshi and Lakhbir Singh Lakkha will perform in Bhajan Sandhya

    Renowned national artists Baba Hansraj Raghuvanshi and Lakhbir Singh Lakkha will perform bhajans on the second day of the ‘National Ramayana Festival’ being organized for the first time in Chhattisgarh. It is worth mentioning that in this festival being organized at the historical Ramlila ground of Raigad from June 01 to 3, the competition of Ramayana parties is being organized daily on the Aranya Kand of Ramayana. Chhattisgarh’s folk singer Shri Dilip Shadangi along with his team will recite Hanuman Chalisa daily during the festival. Along with this, Bhajan evening will be organized every night, in which well-known artists of the country will give their performances.

    The stage program of the second day of the National Ramayana Festival will start from 2 pm. Culture Minister Mr. Amarjit Bhagat will be the chief guest of the program and School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam will preside over the program. There will be group recitation of Hanuman Chalisa at 2.15 pm in the program and teams from 8 states Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Goa and Chhattisgarh will participate in the Aranya Kand based competition organized from 2.30 pm to 8.30 pm. Renowned national artist Baba Hansraj Raghuvanshi and Lakhbir Singh Lakkha will present bhajans from 9.30 pm to 10.30 pm in Bhajan Sandhya from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

    The highlight of the third day of the festival will be the performance of the Ramayana troupe from Indonesia. In the presentation of these Ramayana parties, a glimpse of the diverse national-global forms of Ramkatha of the omnipresent Lord Shriram will be seen. Along with this, nationally renowned artists will give their musical presentation in Bhajan Sandhya. In the Ramlila Maidan, the continuous flow of Ramkatha will flow. On the last day of the National Ramayana Festival, eminent Hindi poet Kumar Vishwas will extol the glory of Lord Shri Ram through his special performance ‘Apne-Apne Ram Music Night’.
