  • ‘Virat Kohli Played Under My Captaincy’: Tejashwi Yadav On Prashant Kishor’s ‘9th Fail’ Remark |

RJD leader and former Deputy CM of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav often faces opposition flak for his educational qualification. Rivals like Prashant Kishor did not miss an opportunity to question Yadav’s credential that makes him fit to hold the post of Bihar Dy CM or future CM apart from the fact that he is son of former CM Lalu Prasad Yadav. Political analyst Kishor who has now launched a political outfit Jan Suraj has vigorously criticised Yadav from time to time. Now, in an interview with Zee News Bihar/Jharkhand, Tejashwi gave it back to Kishor.

Speaking to the Zee media, Tejashwi Yadav said that when he was playing cricket, top players like Virat Kohli played under his captaincy. “I was a cricketer and no one talks about it. Virat Kohli played in my captaincy -did anyone ever talk about it? Why don’t they do so? As a professional, I played a good cricket. Many Team India players are my batchmates. I had to quit as my both ligaments were fractured. Let it be. There are many brokers of the BJP including political parties and leaders whom the party fields during election seasons against me,” said Yadav. Tejashwi Yadav had earlier said that when he was leading Delhi’s under-15 and under-17 team, Kohli was part of the team.

Brushing asides Prashant Kishor’s allegations, Tejashwi Yadav said that such optics are not going to work in Bihar as people of the state are clever enough to ‘rub turmeric on flying bird’ – a popular slang to indicate that people of Bihar know true motives behind public statements.

Bihar has been witnessing an unstable political situation with CM Nitish Kumar often swtiching sides between the BJP and the RJD. This has significantly affected the Bihar’s growth and development work. The state will now go to the polls around October-November this year where the RJD-Congress will look to win a majority on their own so to avoid a dependence on Nitish Kumar. On the other hand, the BJP will look to maxmize its seats to gain the upper hand in the state.

  • India’s Nitesh Kumar Wins Gold Medal In SL3 Badminton After Epic Battle At Paris Paralympics 2024 | Other

Paralympics 2024: India shuttler Nitesh Kumar outplayed Great Britain’s second-seeded Daniel Bethell to clinch a gold medal in the men’s singles SL3 category in the ongoing Paralympics on Monday. Nitesh who discovered his passion in badminton at IIT-Mandi, added a second gold to India’s medal tally after shooter Avani Lekhra got his hands on the nation’s first gold at the Paris

Paralympics with a sensational display in the women’s 10m air rifle final. In a game that went right down the wire, Nitest ousted Daniel with a 21-14, 18-21, 23-21 win to claim his stake at the top of the podium.

The first set ensued between Nitesh and Daniel, a closely-knit affair. With both shuttles playing in a vertical half-court, rallies were quite longer. With both shuttles going neck-to-neck, Daniel enjoyed a slender lead with the scoreline reading at 4-5. Daniel stayed in front midway through the first set with an 11-13 lead.

As the game progressed, Nitesh upped the ante in the second half of the first set to enforce his dominance over the Great Britain shuttler. A flurry of points saw him edge Daniel and wrap up the first set with a 21-14 lead.

In the second set, it was Nitesh who took a slender 5-4 lead. Daniel tried to counterattack with in-body smashes. But the Indian, on several occasions, effectively negated it away with his defensive prowess.

Nitesh slowly extended his lead to three by luring Daniel into making informed errors. He either went too long or placed the shuttle too short, allowing Nitesh to stay in the lead. Daniel retaliated by showcasing grit and display by winning three consecutive points to restore parity at 14-14.

The second set went right down the wire, with Nitesh taking a narrow one-point lead and Daniel breathing right down the Indian’s neck by cutting short his lead. Daniel shifted through gears and increased the intensity by mixing smash and drop shots effectively.

Daniel eventually took the lead with a well-placed shot right at the line, which Nitesh couldn’t lift across the net. His late surge saw him take two consecutive points to take the second set with an 18-21 win.

The shades of the first two sets were visible in the gold medal decider. Once again, it was a closely fought affair between the two shuttles. But Nitesh managed to take a slim lead at the halfway mark, with the scoreline reading 11-10.

Daniel tried to adopt an aggressive approach, and Nitesh replied with the same intensity to keep his one-point lead intact.

But unlike the previous set, Nitesh raised the bar and raced to a five-point lead to take a step closer to the gold medal.

But Daniel wasn’t in the mood to let Nitesh get his hands on the gold medal so easily. With precision, he reduced Nitesh’s lead to just a point.

He couldn’t follow it up and struck the net, which allowed Nitesh to extend his lead to three points at 19-16. As Nitesh stood just two points away from the gold medal, Daniel made the Indian dance to his tune and restored the parity at 19-19.

Nitesh netted the shuttle, leaving Daniel just one point away from the gold. Nitesh made it 21-21 with a drop shot, which Daniel couldn’t get enough height. Nitesh got his hands on the coveted gold after Daniel placed the shuttle outside the court. The crowd erupted with joy as Nitesh animatedly celebrated his win.

After settling the historic gold, both shuttles shook hands and exchanged jerseys with each other. Nitesh arrived in the final after defeating Japan’s Daisuke Fujihara in straight sets, 21–16, 21–12, in the semifinals.

  • Did INDIA Bloc Offer PM Position To Nitish Kumar? Congress Reacts |

The Congress party on Saturday responded to the claims of Janta Dal (United) leader KC Tyagi about Nitish Kumar being offered the Prime Minister’s position by the INDIA bloc. “We don’t have any such information,” stated Congress general secretary KC Venugopal in a press conference following the Congress Working Committee’s meeting in Delhi.

The JD(U) senior leaders pointed fingers at the coalition for mistreating Nitish Kumar; he alleged that those who previously rejected Nitish Kumar as the INDIA bloc’s national convenor are now proposing to make him Prime Minister. He further said that this is the ‘game of politics’ and the JDU will not run back to the INDI Alliance.

With 12 seats in Bihar, Kumar’s JD (U) has become a significant ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to reach the magic number of 272 seats in the Lok Sabha. JD (U) was crucial in the formation of INDIA bloc last year. However, it returned to the NDA in January after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s name was suggested as the potential prime ministerial candidate for the INDIA bloc.

On Friday, while supporting the NDA proposal to name Narendra Modi as the leader of the coalition, Kumar expressed his confidence by saying, “Next time when you come, those who have won here and there this time will lose. I am confident about it. They never worked for the nation. They never served the country. The country will progress under your (PM Modi) leadership.”

He added that all the pending work in Bihar will be completed. It is very good that all of us have come together, and we will all work together with you (PM Modi).

  • ‘Idhar Chala Main Udhar Chala’: Tejashwi Yadav Takes Dig At Nitish Kumar In Jan Vishwas Rally |

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and described his recent ally shift phenomenon with the Hrithik Roshan starred song, ‘idhar chala main udhar chala, jane khan mai kidhar chala.’ Addressing the crowd in Jan Vishwas Rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, Tejashwi said that the Bihar government should get its insurance done as it runs the risk of JDU supremo taking repeated U-turns.

Yadav exclaimed that the BJP says ‘Modi ki Guarantee’, but who will take the guarantee of Nitish Kumar? Reacting to the accusations of PM Modi over familial politics in RJD, former deputy CM of Bihar said, “They call us out on nepotism, but they have Samrat Choudhary, brother of Ram Vilas Paswan, Manjhi ji’s son has been made minister, it doesn’t look like any nepotism to them.”

He further expressed gratitude to the Congress for their support in challenging times, Yadav highlighted Nitish Kumar’s initial skepticism about job promises during their tenure. “When we pledged jobs, he questioned their source. Under our administration, we conducted a caste census, raised the reservation limit to 75%, and increased reservation for extremely backward people by 24%. We achieved what the country hadn’t since independence,” Tejashwi Yadav remarked.

He hailed RJD’s ethos, stating, “In RJD, ‘R’ signifies rise, ‘J’ stands for job, and ‘D’ represents development.” Tejashwi critiqued the BJP for destabilising elected state governments, asserting that the public will respond. Tejashwi pledged to continue the fight, framing it as an ideological battle. “Even if summonses are sent to Rahul Gandhi or the CBI targets Akhilesh Bhai in the Uttar Pradesh alliance, we will persist. BJP has become a dustbin where every party’s waste is accumulating,” he stated in Patna.

Taking a swipe at PM Modi, Tejashwi criticized his recent visit to Bihar, accusing him of repeating falsehoods. “Modi ji is a factory of lies. In the last election, BJP won 39 out of 40 seats. Ask their MPs about the work done in their districts,” he concluded.

PM Modi visited Bihar on Saturday where is was present in a public meeting in Aurangabad alongwith Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. PM also unveiled development projects valued at over Rs 21,400 crore in the state.

The work of the Health Department, Road Construction Department, Urban Development and Housing Department and the decisions taken by him will be reviewed, the order said. Apart from this, the work of the RJD regime in the Rural Affairs Department, PHED and Mines and Geology Department will also be reviewed. Instructions have also been issued by the state government to the secretaries of all concerned departments in this connection, said news agency ANI.

The order came shortly after Tejashwi Yadav launched a fresh attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar while addressing the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and said that the CM does not want to listen to anyone. “You all very well know how our CM is, he does not want to listen to anyone. He used to say ‘I will die, but won’t join BJP’…We decided to stay with Nitish ji, no matter how much we have to sacrifice, only to defeat BJP in 2024…’ Hum logo ne ek thake hue mukhyamantri ko Niyukt kiya hai’…” said RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.

“He does not want to listen to anyone, but still, ours was a grand alliance government, and we wanted to be united with a big goal, We have to stop the powers that be, those who work to sow poison in the country, so this time at any cost, no matter how much we have to bear, no matter how much we have to sacrifice, we joined Nitish ji, so that BJP will be defeated in 2024. We will do the work of ousting BJP from power and we appointed a tired Chief Minister, ” added Tejashwi Yadav.

Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav joined Rahul Gandhi in his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ on Friday in Bihar’s Sasaram. The Yatra reaches it’s final stage in Bihar and is scheduled to enter Uttar Pradesh later today.

Yadav was seen driving Rahul Gandhi and other leaders in the lead jeep as the yatra made its way through Sasaram with the RJD leader acknowledging his ally in his post on x. This was the first time the RJD leader was seen sharing the stage with Gandhi in Bihar since state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar severed his ties with the INDIA bloc.

  • Nitish Kumar’s Govt Passes Floor Test In Bihar |

New Delhi: In a significant development, the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led government emerged victorious in the crucial floor test held on Monday. Garnering a solid show of support, the JDU-NDA coalition secured a confidence vote with a resounding 129 votes in favor of the government. However, notable was the absence of the RJD from the proceedings, as they walked out of the Bihar Vidhan Sabha prior to the commencement of the voting.

Initially, the Deputy Speaker administered a voice vote, but at the behest of the ruling alliance, a formal voting process was initiated. The outcome was clear as day, with 129 votes firmly backing the Nitish Kumar-led administration, affirming their majority in the assembly. This successful passage of the floor test underscores the stability and confidence in the current governance framework, setting a decisive tone for the days ahead.

“(A total of) 129 votes have been received in favour of the motion. There were zero votes against the motion. Thus, this House passes the trust vote,” the Speaker said on Monday.

Three Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLAs -Chetan Anand, Neelam Devi, and Prahlad Yadav went and joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the State Assembly. On three RJD MLAs moving to the NDA side, RJD leader Bhai Virendra said that the public will not make them MLAs again.

While addressing the Assembly, Nitish Kumar took a swipe at his former Mahagathbandhan ally Rashtriya Janata Dal and said that the latter indulged in “corrupt practices” during its rule in the eastern state. He also said that the current NDA government would initiate a probe into these practices.

Earlier, the Bihar assembly passed the no-confidence motion against Bihar Assembly Speaker and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Awadh Bihari Choudhary ahead of the floor test of the Nitish Kumar government to prove its majority.

The JD(U) has 45 MLAs in the House of 243 while its partners, the BJP and the Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S), have 79 and four legislators respectively. The NDA has the support of 128 MLAs and the majority mark in the state assembly is 122.

  • Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Faces Crucial Floor Test Today, Can RJD Spoil BJP-JDU’s Party? |

New Delhi: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, who joined the NDA after a sudden change of alliance, has to show his majority in the assembly today. Before that, the political scene in Patna has heated up due to the ongoing meetings at Tejashwi Yadav’s residence. Is RJD of Lalu Yadav planning to play any game in the floor test? This question has been lingering in the political air for many days. Some RJD MLAs are staying at Tejashwi’s house with clothes and bags.

On the other hand, JD(U) MLAs have been kept at Hotel Chanakya fearing the glow of the ‘lantern’. BJP MLAs have also been moved to another hotel. The scare of Operation Lotus that was in some states, is now the talk of Operation Lantern in Bihar. Meanwhile, the slogans of ‘Tejashwi is needed’ have definitely kept the ruling party’s heartbeat high.

    Does BJP-JD(U) Have Enough Numbers?

The reason for the commotion in Patna before the floor test is the political number of 8. Actually, RJD has 79, Congress has 19 and Left has 19 MLAs. In this way, the grand alliance’s number reaches 114. They are only 8 MLAs short of majority. On the other hand, in the NDA camp, BJP has 78, JD(U) has 45, HAM i.e.

Jitanram Manjhi has four and one independent MLA’s support. This number is 128, i.e. 6 MLAs more than the majority. If 7-8 MLAs break away or ‘vanish’, then it can be trouble for Nitish. Nitish will have to get the number of 122 to save power in the 243 seats of the Bihar assembly.

When Nitish Kumar had made the government with the BJP by turning his back, Tejashwi Yadav had said that the game would start now. For a week, the RJD camp has been shouting – this is the demand of every person, we want only Tejashwi government. One reason for Nitish’s heartbeat to rise is also that why is RJD claiming to form Tejashwi government without the numbers?

A few hours ago, there was also news that Manjhi’s number is not working. A senior leader of the Left also met Manjhi. There, 2-3 MLAs did not reach the JD(U) meeting. Sources have revealed that Sudarshan Kumar Singh, Bima Bharti and Dilip Roy did not appear in the JDU meeting. One more game before the floor test today!

State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary did not pay much attention to the absence of two-three MLAs in the JD(U) MLAs’ meeting. He said that there are 128 MLAs in the NDA. We are in a majority situation. All our MLAs will be present in the House today. Before the confidence vote, a no-confidence motion will come against the Speaker. He told that if necessary under the rules, 38 MLAs will stand on their seats to support the proposal, after which the Speaker will have to hand over the conduct of the proceedings to the Deputy Speaker till a new Speaker is elected.

Actually, the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly is Maheshwar Hazari from JD(U) and the Speaker is Awadh Bihari Chaudhary from RJD. In the past few days, there was a lot of discussion that some game could happen in Bihar through the Speaker. After all, the Speaker is supreme in the House.

RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav said angrily that the arrival of the government officials in the party’s marathon meeting for two days proves that the government has not only lost the public mandate, but also the trust. This is RJD’s meeting. BJP is holding a workshop, so that is a Rasleela and RJD is holding a meeting with the MLAs, so the character is loose. The people of the government send the magistrate to find out which MLAs are on their own or not? This does not work in democracy.

    RJD’s Attack

It was said on Lalu’s party’s ex-handle, ‘Nitish Kumar has sent police in thousands to surround Tejashwi ji’s residence due to the fear of losing the government. They want to enter the house by any means and do something unpleasant with the MLAs. The people of Bihar are watching the misdeeds of Nitish Kumar and the police.’ Many experts who keep an eye on Bihar’s politics believe that by changing sides repeatedly, Nitish Kumar’s popularity has decreased on one hand

  • After Nitish Kumar, Many Others In Line For ‘Ghar Wapasi’ In NDA Ahead Of 2024 Polls |

NEW DELHI: “It’s never too late to mend,” goes the adage, and in the ever-shifting landscape of politics in India, this rings especially true. As alliances evolve and partners realign, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) finds itself at the centre of attention once again, with several former allies contemplating a return to the fold ahead of the crucial 2024 elections.

The BJP: The Architect Of The NDA

At the heart of the NDA stands the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), orchestrating the intricate dance of coalition politics. With the advent of the Narendra Modi era, the NDA witnessed a seismic shift in its composition after the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Now, as the countdown to the 2024 polls begins, attention turns to those allies who are either making a comeback or seriously considering it, following in the footsteps of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s recent U-turn.

Modi-Shah Era And Its Impact On The NDA

In 2013, when Narendra Modi was anointed as the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, the NDA boasted 29 constituent parties. While the BJP swept the elections with 282 seats in the Lok Sabha, its allies clinched an additional 54 seats. However, in the subsequent five years of Modi’s tenure, 16 parties bid adieu to the NDA, signaling a period of flux and transition within the alliance.

    Departures And Realignments

Lessons from 2014 and 2019 The run-up to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections saw the high-profile departure of Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United), setting the stage for a series of exits by regional players such as the Haryana Janhit Congress and the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. Between 2014 and 2019, several other parties, including the Telugu Desam Party and the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party, followed suit, reshaping the NDA’s landscape.

    Recent Exits And Returns

Shiv Sena, SAD, and JD(U) Post-2019, the NDA witnessed the departure of stalwart allies like the Shiv Sena and the Shiromani Akali Dal, while Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) made a surprising comeback following the Bihar Assembly elections in 2022. These developments underscore the fluid nature of coalition politics, where alliances can shift with the changing tides of public sentiment and regional dynamics.

As the 2024 elections loom large, speculation abounds regarding potential returns to the NDA fold. Nitish Kumar’s departure from the opposition alliance signals a significant shift, with other influential figures like Chandrababu Naidu and Uddhav Thackeray also engaging in strategic dialogues with the BJP. Meanwhile, negotiations with regional heavyweights like the Akali Dal and the potential announcement from Jayant Chaudhary hint at further realignments on the horizon.

Amidst these political manoeuvres, the NDA alliance appears poised for a resurgence, consolidating its position ahead of the electoral battleground. Yet, the road to power is fraught with challenges, requiring both new and returning allies to navigate the intricate web of coalition politics. As Prime Minister Modi’s ambitious “400 plus” slogan reverberates, the stage is set for a high-stakes showdown, with the Congress eagerly watching for any signs of weakness within the NDA camp.

Who’s Next In Line For The ‘Ghar Wapasi’ In NDA?

With Nitish Kumar’s recent defection setting the stage, the question on everyone’s mind is: who will be the next to heed the call of ‘Ghar Wapasi’ within the NDA alliance? As alliances shift and political fortunes fluctuate, one thing remains certain: the 2024 elections promise to be a watershed moment in India’s political landscape, with the NDA at the forefront of the action.

  • Nitish First Now Chandrababu Naidu, Read BJP’s Big Poll Plan To Ace North And South In 2024 |

New Delhi: The BJP is looking confident for the Lok Sabha elections after the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The party is trying to win as many seats as possible in the Hindi-speaking regions. It is also not hesitating to woo the allies of the Congress. We have seen the examples of Maharashtra and Bihar, where the BJP has formed governments with the help of former Congress allies. There are also rumours of the Rashtriya Lok Dal, which is part of the Akhilesh-Rahul team in UP, joining hands with the BJP. However, this trend is not limited to the North only.

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is travelling to Delhi on Wednesday and is likely to meet Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda, sources said. Meanwhile, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has also left for Delhi. He is coming by a chartered plane from Patna airport. This is his first Delhi visit after returning to the NDA. He will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. During this visit, the seat-sharing for the Lok Sabha elections may be discussed.

    BJP’s ‘Mission South’

The BJP is also working hard to increase its vote base in the southern states, albeit at a slow pace. Just before the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, PM Narendra Modi had visited the temples in Kerala. He had addressed the BJP workers in Kochi. He had praised the BJP workers for keeping the BJP flag flying in Kerala despite the adverse circumstances. He had bowed his head before them.

Now, a big political event is going to take place in Kerala on February 13. The Kerala Janapaksham (Secular) party will merge with the BJP in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah. The party’s chief PC George said that on the same day, 112 members of the party’s state committee will be given the membership of the BJP. This event will take place in the capital Thiruvananthapuram. Shah is going to visit there next week.

The BJP is focusing on 84 out of 131 seats in South India. The tours of PM Modi and Shah are an indication of this. The BJP’s position is good in Telangana and Karnataka, where it will try to win more than 35 seats. Some experts also say that the BJP is not looking at the Lok Sabha elections but the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. As far as Kerala is concerned, the BJP is expected to get 4-5 seats this time. Last time, the party was second on two seats.

The fact is, the saffron party has a charismatic face in the form of PM Narendra Modi. The crowd that gathers in the rallies in North India translates into votes, but not in South India. The BJP is moving ahead in the direction of forming alliances with the regional parties of the South. Something similar has been seen in North India as well to achieve the political equations. Repeating this experiment, the BJP may get some new allies in the South.

    Chandrababu Naidu’s Delhi Visit

Naidu, who was once a key ally of the BJP, had parted ways with the NDA in 2018 over the issue of special status for Andhra Pradesh. He had joined hands with the Congress and other opposition parties to form a grand alliance against the BJP. However, his party, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), suffered a humiliating defeat in the 2019 assembly and Lok Sabha elections, losing power to the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) led by Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Since then, Naidu has been facing a series of challenges, both political and legal. His party has been accused of corruption and mismanagement by the YSRCP government, which has also launched investigations against several TDP leaders. Naidu himself is facing a CBI probe in a disproportionate assets case. His party has also witnessed defections and desertions, as many of his former loyalists have switched sides to the ruling party.

In this scenario, Naidu is looking for a political revival and a possible reconciliation with the BJP. He may seek the BJP’s support to counter the YSRCP’s onslaught and to protect his party’s interests. He may also offer to support the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections in exchange for some concessions from the Centre. There is a strong possibility of him joining the NDA again, if the BJP agrees to his terms and conditions.

Former AIADMK leaders join the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai, in Delhi.

    BJP’s Tamil Nadu Strategy

On Tuesday, the BJP welcomed several former AIADMK leaders into its fold, in the presence of Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai, in Delhi. Among them were former ministers KP Munusamy, C Ve Shanmugam, CV Sankar, and Nainar Nagendran, former MPs K Malaisamy and Manoj Pandian, and former MLA Vetrivel. They were given BJP membership cards and saffron scarves by the BJP leaders.

The BJP hopes that these leaders will help the party to expand its base and influence in Tamil Nadu, where it has been struggling to make a mark.
