The latest incident has come to light in Bhilai, where a Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel committed suicide by shooting himself. The personnel shot himself in the head with his service rifle.     According to the information received, 32-year-old jawan Manoj Kumar, posted in the 28th battalion of SSB, was a resident of village Seema in Mahendragarh district of Haryana. Currently, he was posted in the transit camp at Risali, Bhilai, the regional headquarters of SSB for general duty from Antagarh. On Tuesday night, Manoj Kumar was posted as a guard at the main gate. Meanwhile, at around 9 pm, he shot himself in the head with his INSAS rifle, due to which he died on the spot. The jawan was immediately taken to Sparsh Hospital Supela for treatment, where he died during treatment.

    The body of the jawan has been taken to AIIMS Raipur for postmortem. The family has been informed about the incident, however, the reason for the jawan’s suicide is not clear.

From June 1 till now, an average rainfall of 697.9 mm has been recorded in Kabirdham district, 869.6 mm in Rajnandgaon, 981.3 mm in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagadhchowki, 643.4 mm in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, 908.3 mm in Balod, 496.2 mm in Bemetara, 925.5 mm in Bastar, 849.6 mm in Kondagaon, 1064.5 mm in Kanker, 1002.5 mm in Narayanpur, 1110.6 mm in Dantewada and 1192.2 mm in Sukma district.
