  • Jammu & Kashmir Congress chief Vikramaditya Singh quits birthday party, cites disconnect

    SRINAGAR: In a setback to Congress, senior birthday party chief Vikramaditya Singh, who’s son of veteran Congress chief Karan Singh and grandson of remaining Dogra ruler of Jammu & Kashmir Maharaja Hari Singh, on Tuesday resigned from the Congress pronouncing the birthday party is disconnected with the bottom realities and not able to replicate sentiments and aspirations of J&Ok folks.

    In his resignation letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Singh stated, “It’s my trust that the Congress is not able to understand and replicate the emotions and aspirations of folks of Jammu and Kashmir.” He additionally tweeted the replica of his resignation letter.

    Singh, who had unsuccessfully contested in opposition to senior BJP chief and Union minister Jitendra Singh from Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat in 2019 parliamentary elections, stated his place on essential problems vis-à-vis Jammu & Kashmir, which replicate nationwide pursuits, don’t align with that of the Congress birthday party. 

    Singh’s resignation comes as a large jolt to the Congress as he was once a distinguished face of the birthday party in Jammu area.
