  • IND vs BAN: Jasprit Bumrah’s Lethal Delivery Shatters Mushfiqur Rahim’s Stumps- WATCH | cricket news

IND vs BAN: After two consecutive days of rain and a wet outfield washed out play in Kanpur, Day 4 of the second Test between India and Bangladesh finally saw some action. Jasprit Bumrah, India’s go-to man in critical moments, delivered the first blow on Monday, removing Mushfiqur Rahim early in the third over of the day.

Rahim was caught off guard by one of Bumrah’s signature deliveries. Misjudging it as an outswinger, Rahim decided to leave it, only to hear the sound of the ball crashing into his stumps. The stunned batsman had no choice but to walk back to the pavilion, leaving Bangladesh reeling.

It was Bumrah’s first wicket of the match, following up on earlier contributions from Akash Deep and Ravichandran Ashwin, who took two and one wickets, respectively, before the rain interruptions. Bumrah’s breakthrough not only lifted India but set the tone for further incredible fielding displays.

Two sensational catches followed Bumrah’s strike. Rohit Sharma pulled off a brilliant effort at slip to dismiss Litton Das off Mohammed Siraj’s bowling, and Siraj himself took an even more spectacular diving catch to send Shakib Al Hasan packing.

Bangladesh, who were 107-3 at the start of play with Mominul Haque unbeaten on 40 and Mushfiqur Rahim on six, crumbled under pressure, though Mominul stood firm. By lunch, Bangladesh’s score had reached 205/6, with Mominul still fighting with a well-deserved century to his name.

The fourth day finally brought some excitement to what has otherwise been a rain-hit Test, with India now looking to push for a result. Fans and pundits on social media have been raving about the incredible catches and the unplayable delivery from Bumrah, with clips of the action quickly going viral. After a frustrating wait, the match is now wide open.

  • Suryakumar Yadav-Like Catch by Young Pakistani Cricketer On Hill Goes Viral- WATCH | cricket news

Local cricket matches worldwide often produce exciting moments that thrill fans. Recently, a video of a young boy imitating Jasprit Bumrah’s unique bowling action went viral. Now, another video is gaining attention, reminding fans of Suryakumar Yadav’s incredible catch during the T20 World Cup final last month. After a young Pakistani boy impressed Wasim Akram with his Bumrah-like action, another young cricketer from Pakistan is now in the spotlight for his amazing catch.

The video shows a local cricket match in Pakistan, with children playing on a hilly terrain. A batsman hits a high shot, and the wicketkeeper runs uphill, keeping his eyes on the ball. He makes a stunning one-handed catch with his left hand, leaving social media in awe.

    What a catch! #cricketonmountain pic.twitter.com/nOkGv1H480 — Faizan Lakhani (@faizanlakhani) July 16, 2024

Earlier, a young boy copying Bumrah’s bowling action received praise from Pakistan legend Akram. Akram expressed his delight on social media, admiring the boy’s control and perfect imitation of Bumrah’s style. Bumrah was a key player in India’s successful T20 World Cup campaign and was named ‘Player of the Tournament’ for his outstanding bowling.

    Suryakumar Yadav’s Catch Controversy

The pivotal moment came in the final over when David Miller launched a shot over the bowler, seemingly destined for the boundary. Suryakumar Yadav intervened with a spectacular catch at long-off, initially juggling the ball dangerously close to the boundary cushion. Third umpire Richard Kettleborough scrutinized the catch, confirming its legality despite social media chatter suggesting Yadav’s foot might have grazed the boundary rope during the catch.

Suryakumar Yadav Or Hardik Pandya To Be The Next T20I Captain For India

Hardik Pandya has been a significant figure in Indian cricket, especially in the T20 format. His contributions to India’s World Cup victory in the West Indies were invaluable. Despite this, recent discussions between Gambhir, Agarkar, and Pandya suggest a shift in strategy. The selectors appear to favor stability and long-term planning, making Yadav the preferred choice.

Pandya’s recent performances, particularly his stint as captain of the Mumbai Indians, have not been as impressive as expected. Coupled with selectors’ concerns over his participation and availability, this has led to a reassessment of his role within the team. While Pandya remains a key player, his break from the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka due to personal reasons further complicates the situation.

Their playful exchange post-match added a personal touch to the professional, capturing the hearts of fans worldwide.

    India’s tense battle with Pakistan

The match, held at Nassau County in New York, was a rollercoaster of emotions. Batting first, India struggled, managing only 119 runs as Pakistan’s bowlers dominated the innings. The pressure was palpable as Indian batsmen faltered, but the game was far from over. Jasprit Bumrah’s stellar performance with the ball turned the tide in India’s favour. His disciplined bowling, resulting in three crucial wickets, restricted Pakistan to 113/7, securing a thrilling six-run victory for India.

    Bumrah’s Match-Winning Performance

Bumrah’s contribution was instrumental in this victory. He dismissed key players, including Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam and the ever-threatening Mohammad Rizwan. Bumrah’s ability to adapt to changing pitch conditions and maintain a clear execution strategy was evident throughout his spell. “We were really disciplined, tried to hit the seam, and it all came out well,” Bumrah reflected after the match. His precision and calm under pressure showcased why he is one of the top bowlers in T20 cricket today.

    The Viral Interview Moment

After the match, Bumrah’s interview with his wife Sanjana Ganesan became an instant hit. Sanjana, balancing professionalism with personal warmth, concluded the interview by wishing him luck, to which Bumrah cheekily responded, “I shall see you again in 30 minutes.” Adding a humorous twist, Sanjana asked, “What’s for dinner?” This endearing exchange resonated with fans, highlighting the couple’s charming dynamic and offering a refreshing break from the usual post-match analysis.

    Bumrah’s Growing Legacy

With his three-wicket haul, Bumrah moved up the ranks to become India’s third-highest wicket-taker in T20I cricket, surpassing Hardik Pandya. His tally now stands at 79 wickets, a testament to his consistent performance and critical role in the team. Bumrah’s success on the field is matched by his grounded and analytical approach off it. He acknowledged the significance of crowd support, saying, “It felt like we were playing in India, really happy with the support and that gives us energy on the field.”

Looking Ahead in the T20 World Cup

India’s victory over Pakistan marked their second win in the T20 World Cup 2024, following a decisive triumph over Ireland. The team, led by Rohit Sharma, has shown resilience and strategic acumen in their performances so far. As they prepare to face the co-hosts USA next, the momentum is on their side. Bumrah emphasized the importance of staying focused on the present, “We’ve played two games and played really well. You stick to your processes and look to play well.”

The confirmation of Tendulkar’s attendance comes from a reliable source close to the International Cricket Council (ICC). The source revealed, “Yes, if all goes well, Sachin will be watching the match in New York and cheering the Indian team.” While it’s still uncertain whether Tendulkar will interact with the players before the match, his presence alone is expected to significantly boost the morale of the Indian team.

Rohit Sharma and his squad will undoubtedly draw inspiration from seeing one of cricket’s greatest icons in the stands. Tendulkar, who remains the highest run-scorer in both Tests and One-Day Internationals (ODIs), has always been a beacon of excellence and motivation for Indian cricketers. His illustrious career, spanning over two decades, set the benchmark for the sport, and his support could be a pivotal factor in such a crucial game.

Historic Rivalry Rekindled in a New Arena

The India-Pakistan cricket rivalry is legendary, often transcending the sport to become a cultural phenomenon. Matches between these two teams are always high-stakes affairs, laden with pressure and excitement. This year, the T20 World Cup has added a unique twist by hosting the marquee clash in New York, marking the first time these two teams will face off on American soil in a World Cup match.

The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, situated on the outskirts of New York, is expected to be filled to capacity. Fans from both nations, along with a vibrant diaspora, will converge to witness this historic match. Captain Rohit Sharma, known for his explosive batting and strategic acumen, will lead the Indian team. Jasprit Bumrah, returning from injury, will spearhead the bowling attack with his lethal pace and precision. Suryakumar Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are also key players expected to make significant contributions.

Pakistan, on the other hand, will rely on their own stars to counter India’s challenge. Babar Azam, one of the world’s top batsmen, will be crucial in anchoring his innings. Shaheen Afridi, with his fiery pace and ability to swing the ball, will aim to unsettle the Indian batsmen early on. The match is poised to be a thrilling contest of skill and nerve.

    Tendulkar’s Enduring Legacy

Sachin Tendulkar’s involvement in cricket extends beyond his playing days. He has frequently been associated with the ICC and other cricketing bodies, often serving as a brand ambassador. His presence at key matches, such as the 2015 and 2023 World Cups, underscores his enduring influence in the sport. Even in retirement, Tendulkar continues to inspire millions. His journey from a young prodigy to a cricketing legend is a testament to his dedication, talent, and passion for the game. His upcoming appearance in New York is not just about watching a cricket match; it symbolizes the connection and respect he maintains with the sport and its global fanbase.

  • Blame Game In Mumbai Indians Camp After Defeat vs KKR, Captain Hardik Pandya Says THIS | cricket news

It was a night of reckoning for the Mumbai Indians (MI) as they suffered a demoralizing 24-run defeat at the hands of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 encounter at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. Despite a clinical bowling performance that restricted KKR to 169, MI’s batsmen faltered, succumbing to the relentless pressure exerted by the opposition bowlers. In the post-match presentation, a visibly dejected Hardik Pandya, the MI captain, pinpointed the lack of partnerships as the primary reason for his team’s downfall. “In the batting inning, we couldn’t form partnerships and kept losing wickets. In T20s, if you don’t form partnerships, it will cost you,” lamented Pandya, acknowledging the harsh reality of their performance.

Trailing the Target, Mumbai Batters Crumble

Chasing a challenging total of 170, Mumbai’s top order once again faltered, leaving the middle order exposed. Suryakumar Yadav’s valiant 56 provided a glimmer of hope, but his dismissal triggered a spectacular collapse, with the remaining batters failing to build any significant partnerships.

Pandya, known for his candid assessments, admitted that there were many questions that needed to be answered, but he refrained from delving into specifics, perhaps reserving his thoughts for the dressing room debrief. “There are a lot of questions that will take some time to answer, but for now, not much to say,” he stated, reflecting the team’s disappointment.

    Hardik Stays Positive, Looks Ahead

Despite the setback, Pandya maintained a positive outlook, acknowledging the efforts of his bowling unit in keeping KKR’s total within reach. “The bowlers did a fantastic job, the wicket got a little better after the first innings, the dew came on,” he said, recognizing the challenging conditions his batters faced.

Embodying the spirit of a true leader, Pandya vowed to keep fighting, reminding himself and his teammates that the highs and lows are an integral part of the game. “You keep fighting, that is what I tell myself, never leave the battlefield, tough days come but good also come here, it’s challenging but challenges make you better,” he asserted, setting the tone for the upcoming matches.

Mumbai’s Road Ahead: Lucknow Super Giants Await

The Mumbai Indians now face the daunting task of regrouping and preparing for their next encounter against the formidable Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday. With their campaign hanging in the balance, Pandya and his men will need to address their batting woes and rediscover their winning formula if they hope to salvage their IPL 2024 aspirations. As the IPL caravan moves on, one thing is certain: the blame game within the Mumbai Indians camp will continue until they find a way to overcome their shortcomings and reclaim their status as one of the most feared teams in the tournament.

  • India’ T20 World Cup 2024 Squad: Who Are The Confirmed Names? Who Are The Contenders Vying For A Spot? , cricket news

India’s selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar is going to have some sleepless nights ahead of the squad announcement for the T20 World Cup 2024. Except for a few names, one cannot for sure still say that this is going to be the squad that will be in USA and West Indies for the mega event. There have been some outstanding performances in IPL 2024 which will make the job of the selectors even more tough. The tournament starts in June and the squad is likely to be announced by the start of May.

Some of the names who are almost confirmed are veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav as the leading wrist spinner. Arshdeep Singh has had a good IPL so far, so he should too make the cut. But there are still nine spots up for grabs.

    Will Hardik Pandya get picked?

Hardik Pandya, the batting all-rounder, is not in great form either with bat or ball which is a huge concern. However, if he is bowling and batting without any discomfort, Hardik should make the cut. Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh are two names who are fighting for one spot in India playing 11 at the World Cup. But selectors may opt to take both of them to WC as backups for each other. Shivam should easily make it as he can bowl too.

Three-way battle really for keeper’s slot

The fight is for the wicketkeeper’s slot. There are six contenders in the form of Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Jitesh Sharma, Sanju Samson and Dinesh Karthik. But the real battle mostly should be between Pant, Samson and Rahul. One or maybe two of them could be picked, depending upon what roles they are told to play.

The bowling department: Tough fight among pacers

Kuldeep should definitely be the first choice wrist spinner. But India will need another spinner, maybe a wrist or a finger spinner. It could be a battle between Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal who make the cut.

Then came the pacers. Apart from Bumrah and Arshdeep, India will need 2 more pacers. These two names are very hard to pick. Delhi Capitals’ Khaleel Ahmed, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s T Natarajan, Punjab Kings’ Harshal Patel, and even Mohit Sharma, Mukesh Kumar have become contenders for the spot.

With no Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj completely out of form, India will have to make a bold choice. Mayank Yadav can be a surprise and bold pick but also a risky one. He has an X-factor which is his extreme pace. But he also lacks experience.

India’s likely T20 World Cup 2024 squad: Rohit Sharma (C), Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant/Sanju Samson/KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Two more pacers and one spinner

  • IPL 2024: Jasprit Bumrah’s Sensational Yorker Leaves Prithvi Shaw Clueless During MI vs DC Match – WATCH | cricket news

In Sunday’s IPL 2024 clash between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at Wankhede Stadium, Jasprit Bumrah once again showcased his mastery of the toe-crushing yorkers, a saga of dominance over batsmen. Tasked with defending a daunting target of 235, Mumbai’s ace pacer, Bumrah, unleashed his lethal deliveries against Delhi’s lineup.

Prithvi Shaw, displaying his flair in front of the opposition crowd, seemed in fine touch, notching up 65 runs off 40 deliveries, embellished with eight boundaries and three maximums. However, Bumrah’s entry into the attack in the 12th over proved pivotal. (WATCH: 4,6,6,6,4,6; Romario Shepherd Runs Havoc On Anrich Nortje During MI vs DC IPL 2024 Match)

In only his second over of the match, Bumrah unleashed a ferocious toe-crusher that left Shaw befuddled. Despite his best efforts, Shaw failed to bring his bat down in time, resulting in Bumrah dismantling his leg-stump with surgical precision, much to the delight of Mumbai Indians’ skipper, Hardik Pandya.

Hardik Pandya claimed his first win as the skipper of the Mumbai Indians with a 29-run win in a high-scoring fest against the Delhi Capitals in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. MI never suffered a defeat in the IPL while defending a target of more than 200 and the final over of the first inning, which saw Romario Shepherd slam 32 runs in Anrich Nortje’s over, proved to be the difference.

History beckoned in Mumbai as Rishabh Pant-led DC stepped on the crease to chase down the highest total in Wankhede Stadium. DC had a completely different powerplay than MI. Romario Shepherd, dismissing David Warner, forced the visitors back against the wall.

Prithvi Shaw continued to find the boundary line on the other end with Abishek Porel to end the powerplay with a score of 46/1. In the following overs, Shaw and Porel produced some delightful strokes to pull DC back into the record-breaking chase.

DC lost Shaw for 66 yet by the end of the 14th over, the visitors were ahead of MI by seven runs with two more wickets at the same stage. Porel’s dismissal added to DC’s woes as they continued to hunt for a big over. Tristan Stubbs with his effortless strokes, tried to release the pressure off DC. He completed his fifty in a mere 19 deliveries. The 23-year-old Proteas batter shifted through gears as the required rate mounted up. He found no support at the other end as he tried to wage a lone war. Another quick-paced knock was on the cards for skipper Pant, however, an unusual shot in Gerald Coetzee’s over ensured his trip to dugout back with a score of 1.

Stubbs struck three sixes in the 19th over to raise hopes of an unprecedented victory. Coetzee, with composure, sealed off a 29-run win and MI’s first of the season.

Earlier in the innings, after being put to bat, the opening pair adopted a cautious approach in the first couple of balls. Ishan Kishan opened his arms as he punched the ball towards the square point to score the first boundary of the match in the first over.

Rohit made Ishant Sharma his target in the next over as he struck back-to-back fours. It marked the beginning of a flurry of boundaries from Rohit’s bat. He smoked the ball into the stand on successive deliveries in Jhye Richardson’s over, ensuring that runs kept coming in at a healthy rate.

MI ended the powerplay on a high note as the opening pair managed to put 75 runs on the board. Axar Patel was introduced into the attack and made an instant impact by dismissing Rohit for 49. Anrich Nortje capitalized on the opportunity and spoiled Suryakumar Yadav’s much-awaited return by sending him back for a two-ball duck.

MI skipper Hardik Pandya avoided an early scare as he tried to pick up a single but was sent back to the striker’s end. He was well short but the fielder’s throw missed the stumps. Kishan tried to keep MI’s healthy run rate intact as he tonked a six in Nortje’s over. He showed his class again with a six over mid-wicket.

By taking a one-handed stunner, it was the DC spinner who had the last laugh. Kishan had a look of disbelief while making his way to the dressing room.

DC had the upper hand when Khaleel Ahmed removed Tilak Varma (6) before he could cause any significant damage. Hardik and Tim David were wary in the next couple of overs before launching an onslaught on DC in the final four overs.

The power-hitting spectacle began with David picking up a four and then tonking the ball for a six. Hardik (39) tried to replicate David’s fireworks but only found Fraser-McGurk. David set the tone of the final over with a six and a four in the 19th over. Romario Shepherd went berserk in the final over as he smashed a boundary on each delivery of the final over.

After finding the fence on the first delivery, Shepherd showed his ruthless power by hitting three consecutive sixes off the first three deliveries, leaving Nortje clueless. Another four and a six to end the innings powered MI to 234/5. Brief Score: Mumbai Indians 234/5 (Rohit Sharma 49, Tim David 45*; Axar Patel 2-35) vs Delhi Capitals 205/8 (Tristan Stubbs 71*, Prithvi Shaw 66; Gerald Coetzee 4-34).

  • India Vs England 5th Test Playing 11s: Will KL Rahul And Jasprit Bumrah Return For Dharamsala Test? What We Know So Far | cricket news

India’s wicketkeeper and batsman KL Rahul played just one Test before he was ruled out of the second due to an issue in his quadriceps. He was rested in Visakhapatnam but even after a long gap before the Rajkot game, Rahul was only at 90 percent fitness and BCCI didn’t risk including him in the squad. He has not attained full fitness yet and also missed the Ranchi Test. As per a new report on Cricbuzz, Rahul’s participation in Dharamsala is still unclear as the batsman has flown to London for an expert opinion on his injury.

Rahul is still feeling pain in his right quadriceps for which he had undergone a surgery in London. He made his comeback in Asia Cup 2023 after which he successfully played in the ODI World Cup and in South Africa. But the pain is back and BCCI as well as National Croquet Academy (NCA) don’t want to take any risks with him as the cricketer is of utmost importance to them.

With India already 3-1 up in the series, BCCI might not want to take any risk with a 90 percent fit Rahul. It has also been reported that one more batter and one bowler might be rested in Dharamsala as BCCI looks to manage workload of players.

The good news for Jasprit Bumrah fans is that he is likely to return for the Dharamshala Test. This is the ground which offers assistance to the Pacers and for the first time in the series we might get to see three paces in both the playing 11s.

Coming back to Rahul, he also leads Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The fact that he is very close to regaining full fitness means Rahul is certain to play IPL 2024. Even if he misses the first few games, he should be able to get back to LSG midway through the season.

As far as England are concerned, they are unlikely to make massive changes to the playing 11 knowing they would want to finish the series on a high note, going back with a 3-2 scoreline rather than 4-1. One change that may want to make is including Dan Lawrence in place of Jonny Bairstow. Lawrence has been warming the bench so far and with Bairstow in such a poor form, Lawrence can be tried at the No 5 slot. Knowing fast-paced nature of Dharamsala pitch, we might also see three pacers also in England XI in the form of James Anderson, Mark Wood and Ollie Robinson. As per report, England and India are set to fly to Dharamsala on March 2.

India’s playing 11 for 5th Test Vs England may look like this: Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal (Devdutt Padikkal), Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Axar Patel/Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel, R Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj

England probable playing 11: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow/Dan Lawrence, Ben Stokes, Ben Foakes, Tom Hartley, James Anderson, Mark Wood, Ollie Robinson
