  • Approval received for construction of four lane road from Jagdalpur to Raipur, work will start soon

Ashutosh Tiwari, Jagdalpur. To further strengthen connectivity with Raipur, the capital of Bastar region, the demand for construction of four-lane road between Jagdalpur and Raipur is going to be fulfilled soon. BJP state president Kiran Singh Dev has announced that an agreement has been reached with the central government regarding this project and the Vishnudev government had given this proposal to the National Highways Ministry. The proposal has been approved by the National Highways Ministry and soon the construction work of four-lane road between Dhamtari and Jagdalpur will be started.

Under this project, an approximately 11 km long flyover will be built on the Keshkal Ghat. This will not only protect the environment but will also provide permanent relief to the people from the frequent traffic jams in Keshkal and the problems caused by it. The government is moving fast in this direction. Permanent solutions can be found for every problem and issue of Bastar. The advantage of having a double engine government is that it is easier for the central government to move towards a clear solution to the issues. BJP President Kiran Dev has claimed that this work will be started soon.

It is worth mentioning that the work of four lane on National Highway 30 from Raipur to Dhamtari has been completed and for a long time the local people have been demanding to extend it from Dhamtari to Jagdalpur. This will not only benefit the business but also the passengers. Because it used to take people at least 6 hours to reach the state capital Raipur from Bastar, this time will be reduced after the construction of four lane road, along with this, accidents caused by the movement of heavy vehicles will also be eliminated. After the construction of Nagarnar Steel Plant, the local people were repeatedly pressurizing the political parties to complete the work of four lane soon.

New Delhi. Chhattisgarh’s Guru Ghasidas – Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve will be the third largest tiger reserve in the country. The Chhattisgarh government has notified Guru Ghasidas – Tamor Pingla as a tiger reserve. With this, the number of tiger reserves in Chhattisgarh has increased to four.

Guru Ghasidas National Park was made a tiger reserve in the year 2021, but it could not be brought into existence due to opposition. Due to the presence of many mines in this area, the notification to declare the National Park as a Tiger Reserve was stuck during the Congress rule. The previous BJP government of Chhattisgarh had sent a draft to the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) to make a tiger reserve by combining Guru Ghasidas National Park and Tamor Pingla Sanctuary, after which the NTCA approved Guru Ghasidas National Park as a tiger reserve, but during the Congress rule, the matter was stuck due to the coal block, oil block and methane gas block of the reserve area. Now when the BJP government returned to the state again, the way for the formation of a tiger reserve has been cleared.

In the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Chhattisgarh, an important decision has been taken to form the Guru Ghasidas – Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve and notify it as a Tiger Reserve. The formation of this Tiger Reserve is expected to increase the number of tigers, as this area will ensure their safety. This step was necessary to improve the number of tigers based on the existing data. The new Tiger Reserve will preserve the natural habitat of tigers and promote their safety.

The formation of a Tiger Reserve will promote eco-tourism and generate new employment opportunities for local communities. Local people will get economic benefits from the employment of guides, tourist vehicle operation and operation of resorts as well as other tourism related services. Additional budget will be received from the National Project Tiger Authority, which will be useful for the development of the area and livelihood improvement.

Tiger Reserve is spread over an area of 2829.387 sq km
