  • CG NEWS: Young man dies after drowning in Amner river, accident happened while he was having picnic with friends

    Amit Pandey, Khairagarh. A tragic incident has happened during a picnic in the district. A young man who had gone for a picnic with his friends died after drowning in the Amner river. This incident happened on Saturday when 20-year-old Piyush Arya went to take a bath in the river with his four friends. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and recovered the body of the young man. This incident happened at Kukrapat, a tourist spot located in the forest area under the Gatapar Jungle Police Station area.

    According to the information, Piyush Arya, a resident of Civil Line, had reached the tourist spot Kukrapat on Lanji main road by car with his friends on Saturday. During this, Piyush went to take a bath in Amner river with his friends. Where at around 2:30 pm, Piyush drowned in the depth of the river. His friends tried their best to save him and requested for help from the people around but by then Piyush had disappeared in the river.

    After the priest of Kukrapat temple got information about the incident, the Gatapar forest police was informed about it. After which the SDRF team was called to Kukrapat but the body of the youth could not be found. On receiving the information of the incident, Piyush’s family, neighbors and colleagues were present on the spot. The SDRF, Nagarsena and police personnel searched for the body of the youth drowned in the river throughout the night. After which the divers recovered Piyush’s body at around 6 am today.

    It is being told that the Amner river flowing through Kukrapat is filled with deep water due to heavy rains these days. The priest of Kukrapat temple had forbidden the young men who had come for picnic from bathing in the river but they did not listen. Despite this, the priest had instructed that no one should go into water below the waist but the young men did not listen to the priest and a young man died after drowning in the deep Amner river.

    After this incident, a wave of mourning has spread in the revered Sindhi community including Khairagarh Civil Line. Let us tell you that the deceased Piyush is the nephew of Khairagarh’s reputed businessman Vikas Arya. At present, the police have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem and further investigation is going on.

    CG POLICE TRANSFER: Before the upcoming urban body elections in Chhattisgarh, the round of transfers is going on in the police department. Meanwhile, news has come that Durg SP Jitendra Shukla, while doing a major administrative surgery in the district, has issued transfer orders of 96 police personnel posted at the same place for a long time. According to the order, 23 sub-inspectors, 3 ASIs and 70 constables have been transferred. These also include the names of 11 sub-inspectors of the protected center.

  • Diarrhea spreads in Balodabazar, more than 40 people are ill, now the health department has woken up

    Balodabazar Arvind Mishra. The health department seems to be troubled due to the continuous spread of diarrhea in Balodabazar district. Collector Deepak Soni has asked the health department to remain alert. The latest case has come from Karamda, where suddenly people complained of vomiting and diarrhea since last evening and more than 40 people fell ill within no time. The health staff is treating patients by setting up a camp in the village itself. More than 10 patients have been admitted to the district hospital. The village is silent due to the outbreak of diarrhea.

    The villagers said that under the Nal Jal Yojana, the pipes of the water being supplied have leakage in many places and people have drunk this dirty water, after which all the bores of the village have been closed. Water is being supplied to the village through water tankers.

    Dr. Abhijit Banerjee said that since last evening, all the diarrhea patients coming are being treated by setting up a camp in the village. Medicines are available in sufficient quantity and the situation is under control. About nine patients have been admitted to the district hospital. People are being advised to drink boiled water.

    Public announcement is also being made through the Kotwar. Dr. Banerjee said that I will appeal to all the villagers of the district to maintain cleanliness and drink boiled water and also contact the government medical department if there is vomiting or diarrhea.

  • District hospital got National Quality Assurance Standard Certificate, Delhi team appreciated the better health facility

    Arvind Mishra, Balodabazar. This is another big achievement for the health department. Balodabazar District Hospital has received the National Quality Assurance Standard Certificate for better health facilities. Even before this, the district hospital has received the National Quality Assurance Standard Certificate.

    In June 2024, a three-day test of the services being provided in the district hospital was conducted by a national level investigation team. This team included Dr. Subrajyoti Rao from Bhubaneswar, Dr. Rupendra Kumar from Lucknow and Ritu Nair from Delhi, who inspected and marked 15 departments of the hospital very closely. After the test, the district hospital finally met the said standards and a certificate was issued.

    Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Rajesh Kumar Awasthi said that all the preparations were done under the guidance of Collector Deepak Soni. National Quality Assurance Standard Certificate, also known as NQAS, is an evaluation system started by the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of India to check the quality of services being provided in hospitals. Getting the said certificate by an institution reveals the improving facilities.

    Under this NQAS, 15 departments like IPD, OPD, Emergency, Maternity, Labor, Pharmacy, Blood Bank, Radiology, Lab, OT, SNCU etc. were tested in 8 areas in the district hospital, which are service system, patient’s rights, input, support service, clinical service, infection control and outcome. Along with NQAS, the district hospital has also received the certificate of target, which is set for maternal and child health. According to the CMHO, the team that came for inspection has praised some departments of the hospital like Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU), Nutrition Rehabilitation Center (NRC) and Emergency the most. The most special achievement of a hospital is the better facility given to the patient in emergency situation. In such a situation, the inspection team also praised the emergency system. The emergency service has received 98.88 marks out of 100, SNCU 95.48 and NRC 94.86. The entire district hospital has received 91.92 marks.

    There are 200 staff working in the hospital.

    It is worth mentioning that the district hospital has already received this certificate for excellent health facilities. The new certificate shows that quality services are being continued. Let us tell you that there are about 200 staff working in the hospital right now. Specialist doctors from major departments like gynecology, surgery, medicine, ENT, mental health, orthopedics, ophthalmology, pediatrics are providing services. Facilities like sonography, CT scan, dialysis are being provided in the hospital, while MRI has been approved.

    Collector Deepak Soni expressed satisfaction over this achievement of the district hospital and asked the hospital to remain ready to serve the general public. He congratulated all the doctors and staff including District Medical Officer and Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajesh Awasthi and asked them to continue doing better work in future so that people can get the benefit of health facilities.

Manjhi demanded correction of errors in the budget item for construction of a high level bridge on Devbhog Belat Nala, besides construction of Bagh Nala, Sodur Nala, Jarhidih Nala of Shobha region and road construction in the region. Apart from this, he reiterated before the government the demand of providing adequate resources for operation of Devbhog Hospital, declared as a civil hospital, in the prescribed set up and making Devbhog a Nagar Panchayat.

Manjhi also demanded adequate facilities for the proper operation of the laboratory established for drinking water testing in Devbhog PHE subdivision office.
