Now, instead of turning to traditional search engines users can get instant, timely information directly from ChatGPT.

“The benefits of a natural language interface are combined with real-time access to sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more,” explained OpenAI.

The existing ChatGPT, also developed by OpenAI, enables web browsing based on user queries with the option to trigger searches by clicking a web search icon for instant answers. Meanwhile, ChatGPT Search, an advanced tool powered by an upgraded GPT-4 model, brings up-to-date information and images directly from web sources and links.

Who currently has access to ChatGPT Search?

ChatGPT Search is launching as a paid feature and it will be available to ChatGPT Plus and Team subscribers. • ChatGPT Maker OpenAI Launches New Search Engine ‘SearchGPT’ To Take On Google Search; Here’s How It Works |

New Delhi: OpenAI, an artificial intelligence company behind the chatbot ChatGPT, has finally launched its AI search engine called SearchGPT. With this, the Microsoft-backed AI chatbot Open AI will try to take on Google Search. The new feature is currently in the ‘prototype’ stage which is accessible to only a small group of users.

The company plans to integrate its capabilities into ChatGPT in the near future. It is important to note that tech companies have been exploring various use cases of generative AI that could be integrated into the everyday tech ecosystem of users since the unveiling of ChatGPT in 2022.

In a blog post about the new search feature, OpenAI wrote, “We’re testing SearchGPT, a prototype of new search features designed to combine the strength of our AI models with information from the web to give you fast and timely answers with clear and relevant sources.”

    What is OpenAI SearchGPT?

SearchGPT is an AI-powered search engine designed to provide direct answers to your queries. Instead of traditional search results, you simply enter what you’re looking for into a large search box, and you receive a detailed, step-by-step response, complete with related images.

    How Does OpenAI SearchGPT Works?

Understanding the Query: The system uses AI, specifically Natural Language Processing (NLP) and in-house GPT Large Language Models, to grasp the context and intent behind your query.

Generating the Answer and Scanning Web Results: It formulates an appropriate answer by scanning web results to gather relevant information.

Summarizing Information with Source Links: The system summarizes the relevant web results and provides links to the sources next to each piece of information.

Sidebar for Related Results: Additional related results with source links are conveniently available in a sidebar for further exploration.

Interactive Chatbot Interface and Future Integration: Interactions occur in a chatbot-like interface, allowing follow-up questions and conversations. This functionality will be integrated into ChatGPT in the future for easier access.

  • ChatGPT Answers Went ‘Undetected’, Secured Better Grades Than Students, Study Finds |

New Delhi: Exam graders could have trouble spotting answers generated by AI-based chatbots, researchers said after their study found that these answers not only went undetected but were also graded better than those written by students.

On behalf of 33 ‘fake students’, the researchers at the University of Reading, UK, submitted answers generated by ChatGPT to the examinations system of the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences of the same university.

The team found that 94 per cent of the AI-written answers went undetected. Further, about 83 per cent of the chatbot’s answers secured better scores than real students’ submissions.

“We found that within this system, 100 per cent AI-written submissions were virtually undetectable and very consistently gained grades better than real student submissions,” the authors wrote in the study published in the journal PLoS ONE.

The researchers said their findings should be a “wakeup call” for educators across the world and called for the global education sector to evolve in the face of artificial intelligence.”Many institutions have moved away from traditional exams to make assessment more inclusive.

Our research shows it is of international importance to understand how AI will affect the integrity of educational assessments,” lead researcher Peter Scarfe, an associate professor at the University of Reading, said.
