Forest staff has arrested an accused who killed an elephant by applying 11 KV current. Other accused involved in the murder are still absconding and are being traced. The accused had applied electric current for the purpose of hunting wild animals.

A group of 34 elephants have been roaming in Wadrafnagar area for about a month. Out of which one elephant died due to electrocution on March 11. In this case, the crime was registered and taken up for investigation and what came to light during the interrogation was that some accused were involved. In this case, Forest SDO Anil Singh Paikra said that after interrogating the accused, it was found that for hunting wild boar, wires were laid by hooking them with 11KV line. But the elephant got stuck in it and died. Wire and other materials laid for hunting have been confiscated.
