The unidentified body found in village Kumhi was identified as Uttam Verma, resident of Amaghat. Police formed a joint team of dog squad, cyber and forensics and started investigation in all directions.

On the basis of suspicion, the police detained the accused Hemant Dhekwar and interrogated him. He told that a four-wheeler was purchased in January 2024 and a harvester in February 2024. For which finance of thirty lakh rupees was made in the name of deceased Uttam Verma. Along with which, Loan Security Insurance (LSB) was also given to deceased Uttam by the finance company. In this way, Hemant had also got an insurance of about 80 lakhs done in the name of deceased Uttam in Maharashtra.
