    Virendra Gahwai, Bilaspur. The series of road accidents in Sipat police station area is not stopping. So far three people have lost their lives in two separate incidents within a week. The first incident took place on September 11 near Fitness Mantra Gym, in which two youths, Rohit Kumar Kaliare and Kailash Saruta, died.

    The second incident happened on Saturday, September 14, in which a bike and a scooty collided. In this accident, two youths riding a bike were identified as Sanjay Ratnakar, son of Mahesh Ratnakar, age 24 years and Aman Sonwani, son of Sushil Sonwani, age 20 years. Both were going towards Navadih Chowk Sipat to buy goods. At the same time, Satish Gupta, son of Ramkhilavan Gupta, age 58 years, who is the operator of Swati Electronic Shop Sipat, riding a scooty, was crossing the road to go to HDFC Bank. As soon as Satish Gupta crossed the road, a bike coming at high speed collided with him. After the accident, Satish Gupta was admitted to Apollo Hospital in critical condition. Seeing his condition there, he was referred to Shri Mangalam Hospital, where he died during treatment.

    After the accident, CCTV footage has emerged in which Satish Gupta is seen crossing the road while a speeding bike collides with the scooter. The police who reached the spot are investigating the matter.

The latest incident is from Telibandha police station area, where a young man attacked a girl with a knife in broad daylight at Telibandha pond. After attacking the girl, the accused youth jumped into the Telibandha pond. After this incident, there was a stir in the entire area. On receiving information about the incident, the police and SDRF team reached the spot. The SDRF team rescued the accused. The police have arrested the accused and started interrogation.

    Additional Superintendent of Police Lakhan Patel said that a youth named Lokesh attacked the girl with lethal intent. After the attack, the accused youth jumped into the Telibandha pond. He was trying to escape by jumping into the pond. The police and SDRF team rescued the accused youth and arrested him. The seriously injured girl has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Patel said that prima facie, this case seems to be a love affair. At present, investigation is being done.

    After about 10 hours of hard work, the repair work of the railway track was completed by Sunday and the wagon was brought back on track. The operation of trains has also become normal. A team of 30 people worked throughout the night in this entire work. The track was cleared after 21 hours. The expenses incurred in the incident will be paid by NMDC Steel Limited.

    Meeting of contractors and corporation commissioner
