  • BSNL Deploys Over 50,000 Indigenous 4G Sites In India’s Most Remote Regions |

    New Delhi: In a landmark move advancing India’s digital connectivity goals, the state-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has successfully deployed more than 50,000 indigenous 4G sites nationwide, the Ministry of Communications announced.

    “Under the Government’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiative, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has successfully deployed more than 50,000 indigenous 4G sites nationwide, significantly advancing India’s digital connectivity goals,” said the ministry.

    This deployment, in collaboration with Indian tech giants like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Tejas Networks, the Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), and ITI Ltd., showcases the strength of India’s homegrown technology in fulfilling the country’s connectivity needs. . Designed, developed, and implemented entirely by Indian companies, BSNL’s 4G network embodies the concept of “Poorn Swadeshi” (Completely Indigenous) innovation, ushering in a new era for telecom in India, the ministry added.

    As of October 29, 2024, BSNL has installed over 50,000 sites, of which more than 41,000 are now operational, with nearly 36,747 sites established under the Phase IX.2 of the project and 5,000 sites under the 4G Saturation Project funded by Digital Bharat Nidhi. Fund erstwhile Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF). These efforts are bolstering BSNL’s goal to deploy over 1,00,000 4G sites, a testament to its swift pace of expansion.

    Till July,2024, BSNL has put on Air 15000 sites. Moreover, the last three months have witnessed the addition of over 25,000 new 4G sites, serving as a powerful reminder of the impact of Swadeshi technology and BSNL’s commitment to connecting all of India.

    New Delhi: State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched the BSNL Live TV app, exclusive for Android TVs only. With limited downloads as of now, the BSNL Live TV App has been published by WeConnect.

    Although it is yet not very clear as to what exactly the functionality of BSNL Live TV app are, BSNL has mentioned the following description in Google playstore.

    “Our service offers a unified 4K HEVC network in India, providing Cable TV, Internet, and Landline Telephone services through a single CPE. This device features a 4K video interface, built-in Wi-Fi router, access to major OTT apps, and integrated CCTV capabilities, all operated via an Android-based system.”

    Last year, BSNL launched the Internet Protocol television (IPTV) services. BSNL is providing Internet Protocol television (IPTV) services via fiber at the rate of Rs 130/- per month.

    HD Packs are available under two plans, HD starter at Rs 270 with 211 TV channels and HD Bonanza at Rs.400 with 223 TV channels. BSNL IPTV service can work without a set-top box in Android TV sets. Limited period special discount offer of Rs 1200 is available for existing landline customers to convert it to Fiber Broadband.

    New Delhi: If you have got any viral message purportedly being sent by State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), offering you a lucrative Rs 50,000 per month and an advance amount of Rs 35 lakh for installing BSNL tower in your roof-top. , you are actually targeted by scamsters.

    A fake website, https://bsnltowerindia.com/page/about-us.html, is doing the rounds in the social media which is claiming the above payment. The plans on this fake website mentions three packages for tower installation –One is rural package, second is semi-urban package and third is urban package.

    Among the several list of documents that the fake website is demanding is –self attested copy of Voter ID, self attested copy of PAN card, self attested passport size photograph, copy of property related documents and copy of bank statements of last 6 months.

    BSNL has asked its customers to be careful, stating that it is a fake website which has no connection with the telecom company. Customers have also been alerted that the fake website is asking for money or personal information in lieu of setting up 5G towers.
