Yashasvi Jaiswal has responded to his non-selection for the Indian squad participating in the Asia Cup 2025. The young batsman acknowledged that his role is limited to working hard and improving his game. He stated that the selectors make decisions based on team composition. Jaiswal aims to control what he can and remain focused on his own performance. He is optimistic that his efforts will eventually lead to his inclusion in the team. Jaiswal emphasized his aspiration to contribute to the team’s success in the World Cup, recalling the joy of the T20 World Cup victory in 2024. The team received a warm welcome upon returning to India. The squad for the Asia Cup 2025 was announced by Chairman Ajit Agarkar, with the exclusion of Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal drawing attention. Shubman Gill was selected and appointed as vice-captain. Jaiswal’s T20 record includes 723 runs in 23 matches, averaging 36.15 with a strike rate of 164.31. In IPL 2025, he scored 559 runs in 14 matches with a strike rate of 15.71.
