In a stunning display of bowling prowess, Delhi Capitals’ pacers and spinners dismantled Royal Challengers Bengaluru for a mere 109 runs in the Women’s Premier League 2026 at BCA Stadium, Vadodara. RCB, already qualified for the playoffs atop the points table with five straight wins, were sent in to bat after losing the toss on Saturday.
Captain Smriti Mandhana and Grace Harris provided a solid start, stitching a 36-run opening stand in 5.3 overs. Harris fell for 9 off 13 balls, but Mandhana anchored with a brisk 38 off 34 balls, including six fours and a six, in company of Georgia Voll for a 26-run second wicket partnership.
Once Mandhana departed, RCB’s innings crumbled dramatically. Only Radha Yadav offered some resistance with 18 off 17, featuring a six, but the middle order failed to fire. Just two batters reached double figures in a batting collapse that saw the innings fold in quick time.
Nandini Sharma led the charge for DC with a sensational three-wicket haul. Chinelle Henry, Marizanne Kapp, and Minnu Mani each claimed two scalps, while Sri Charani picked one. Under Jemimah Rodrigues’ captaincy, DC now chase a modest 110 to avenge their earlier eight-wicket loss to RCB and climb the table from fourth place.
RCB, led by Mandhana, had dominated the season so far, but this low total gives DC a golden opportunity. With players like Shafali Verma, Lizelle Lee, and Laura Wolvaardt in form, Capitals are favorites to chase down the target and boost their playoff hopes in this crucial encounter.
