The Indian Premier League (IPL) is gearing up for its next cycle, with the retention deadline for IPL 2026 set for November 15. As teams firm up their strategies, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), reigning champions, are reportedly contemplating releasing up to five players. This crucial decision-making period precedes the IPL 2026 mini-auction slated for December 2025.

Building a champion squad requires constant evaluation and recalibration. While RCB possesses a strong foundation, certain players may not fit into the long-term vision or meet performance expectations. The franchise is expected to make some tough calls regarding its roster. Let’s identify five players who could be heading for the exit:

**Yash Dayal:** The Indian fast bowler, who cost RCB Rs 5 crore, has faced scrutiny. Despite some good performances, recent controversies might push the management to release him, prioritizing team stability and discipline.

**Liam Livingstone:** England’s Liam Livingstone was a significant investment at Rs 8.75 crore. Unfortunately, his returns on the field haven’t justified the expenditure, making him a likely candidate for release as RCB seeks better value for money.

**Swapnil Singh:** Signed for Rs 30 lakh, Swapnil Singh was unable to break into the playing XI in the 2025 season. If his role remains undefined, the franchise might release him to make space for new talent.

**Lungi Ngidi:** South African pacer Lungi Ngidi joined RCB for Rs 1 crore. His limited involvement, appearing in only two games and taking four wickets, suggests he might not be a core part of RCB’s plans going forward.

**Rasikh Dar:** Completing the list is Rasikh Dar. Having played just two matches and taken one wicket, his limited impact makes him a probable release candidate as RCB aims to rebuild and strengthen its bowling attack.
