Karnataka has announced its squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, with the significant inclusion of two prominent India cricketers, KL Rahul and Prasidh Krishna. The team, aiming for a consecutive title, begins its campaign on December 24 in Ahmedabad. Rahul’s return to domestic 50-over cricket after a period of international commitments provides Karnataka with immense batting depth and leadership. Krishna, a dynamic fast bowler, is set to enhance the team’s bowling arsenal with his pace and wicket-taking ability. The squad, led by Mayank Agarwal and deputized by Karun Nair, comprises 16 players. It’s important to note that both Rahul and Krishna might have to depart mid-tournament if selected for India’s ODI series against New Zealand. The squad also features promising young players like Harshil Dharmani and Dhruv Prabhakar, who have impressed in age-group competitions. Shreesha Achar will be the primary spin option. Karnataka’s group stage fixtures, including matches against Jharkhand, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, will all be held in Ahmedabad.
