Jannik Sinner is preparing to face Carlos Alcaraz in the US Open 2025 final. This marks Sinner’s fifth Grand Slam final appearance, and he has described the upcoming match as “special.” To reach the final, Sinner defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime with a score of 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, and 6-4, as he seeks to add a fifth major title to his career.
Sinner expressed his satisfaction with his consistent performance, stating, “I think five straight Grand Slam finals, it’s something great. The consistency and putting myself there in the later stages of the biggest tournaments we have, it’s amazing.” He reflected on his career, adding, “I would have never thought that I would make this when I turned pro, and now I find myself here.”
Regarding his opponent, Sinner said, “On court we like to see each other, you know, because it means that considering our ranking, it means that we are doing well in the tournament.” Looking ahead to the final, Sinner stated, “Sunday is a very special day and an amazing final again. I feel like our rivalry started here playing an amazing match. We are two different players now, with different confidence too.” The match carries additional weight, as Sinner’s world No. 1 ranking is also at stake.
Sinner has previously claimed victory at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. However, he experienced a loss at the French Open. The US Open final will be the second time Sinner and Alcaraz have met in the tournament, with Alcaraz winning their quarter-final match in 2022.
