The UP T20 League 2025 witnessed an unexpected turn of events for Rinku Singh following his selection for the Asia Cup. While the phrase ‘everything happens for a reason’ is often used, Rinku’s experience in the UP T20 League couldn’t be considered positive. Although he played in the opening match, he didn’t get a chance to bat. In the second match, when his turn came, a 20-year-old bowler, Parv Singh, had the upper hand. Parv Singh’s spin bowling troubled Rinku, leading to his clean dismissal.

On August 19, during the UP T20 League 2025, Rinku Singh’s Meerut team played their second match against the Lucknow Falcons. Meerut Mavericks batted first and scored 150 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Rinku Singh’s performance during this innings became the focal point. This match was his first since being selected for the Asia Cup. Expectations were high, but the results were disappointing.

He neither scored runs quickly nor hit any sixes. He was eventually clean bowled by Parv Singh, a 20-year-old. This performance contributed to his team’s loss. Rinku Singh scored 23 runs from 19 balls with a strike rate of 121.05, without any sixes. He fell victim to Parv Singh’s spin.

The fans were surprised when they saw Rinku Singh getting bowled by Parv Singh’s spin. Considering the spin-friendly pitches expected in the UAE for the Asia Cup, there are worries about his performance.

In the match, Lucknow Falcons chased down the 151-run target set by Rinku Singh’s team with 8 balls to spare and 5 wickets down. This was Rinku Singh’s team’s first defeat in the first two matches.
