Taxi Driver’s Daughter, Kajal, Achieves Gold Medal Victory

Kajal, from the village of Lath-Joli in Sonipat, is the daughter of a taxi driver. Despite their modest financial situation, Kajal’s father always supported her. Both her father and uncle have wrestled, and they started training Kajal from a young age. This training helped Kajal become a skilled wrestler. She won the Under-17 Asian title in the 73 kg category and the Under-17 World title in the 69 kg category in 2024. She had previously won the title in the 73 kg category at the Under-17 World Championship held in Kyrgyzstan in 2023.
