Noida erupted in celebration as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 trophy made a grand entrance at IANS headquarters on Wednesday. Part of its official trophy tour ahead of the India-Sri Lanka co-hosted extravaganza starting February 7, the iconic silver-plated prize was welcomed with thunderous dhol beats and energetic traditional dances.

The office transformed into a festive hub, with staff and visitors thronging to catch a glimpse of the glittering trophy. Cricket enthusiasts posed for selfies and photos, capturing the moment of proximity to cricket’s ultimate T20 glory. This vibrant reception underscored the mounting excitement for the tournament’s 10th edition, where India stands as a top favorite to clinch the title.

Crafted by London silversmith Thomas Lyte, the 51 cm tall, 3.9 kg trophy features five interlocking castings on a silver-plated base metal. Unlike the golden One Day World Cup trophy, its unique design symbolizes the fast-paced, explosive nature of T20 cricket.

The trophy tour has long been a prelude to ICC mega-events, bridging fans worldwide with the sport’s pinnacle prize. From iconic landmarks to bustling newsrooms like IANS, it has sparked awareness, fervor, and unity across the global cricket fraternity.

As the tournament countdown hits single digits, this visit serves as a thrilling reminder that record-shattering performances and unforgettable moments await. Fans are buzzing with anticipation for breakthroughs from emerging stars and veterans alike, promising to redefine T20 history.
