Guwahati buzzed with excitement as India chased down New Zealand’s 154 in just 10 overs during the third T20I, sealing a dominant performance. Captain Suryakumar Yadav couldn’t hide his satisfaction with the team’s fearless approach, declaring it the exact brand of cricket they crave.

The match at Barsapara Cricket Stadium saw India unleash a batting blitz that left fans roaring. SKY emphasized that whether batting first or chasing, this aggressive mindset is non-negotiable. ‘This is the style of cricket we want to play,’ he said post-match. ‘Even if we’re 20 for 3 or 40 for 4 in the future, we know how to bat. But to play different cricket, this is the best way forward. The top order made my job easy.’

Ravi Bishnoi’s inclusion paid off handsomely. The leg-spinner claimed 2 wickets for 18 runs in his 4 overs, earning high praise from the skipper. ‘Bishnoi’s plans are crystal clear. He knows his strengths and understands his bowling inside out. When the team is under pressure, he always steps up. Having such a player is fantastic.’

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner was gracious in defeat, crediting India’s bowling attack. ‘Full marks to their bowlers; they made conditions tough for us. Losing wickets in the powerplay is crucial, and reaching 150 became a challenge from there.’ His side folded at 153 for 9, hampered by cutters in the first innings on a pitch that could’ve supported 180-190.

Santner noted the quick outfield and small boundaries but admitted India’s pressure from the start was relentless. Powerplay wickets derailed their innings completely. India’s series triumph showcases their evolution in T20 cricket, blending aggression with smart execution.
