Following Rishabh Pant’s outstanding display in the Leeds Test, former coach Ravi Shastri offered his analysis, praising Pant’s exceptional talent. Shastri pointed out that, at times, Pant’s batting seems to defy conventional logic, but a shrewd cricketing mind is always at play. He commended Pant for his situational awareness and ability to launch counterattacks.

Shastri noted that Pant’s technique can occasionally appear inconsistent. He regretted that Pant did not capitalize on the seventies and nineties, as more centuries could have been added to his name.

Day 4 of the Test concluded with England at 21/0, chasing a target of 371. India’s second innings concluded at 364. A key moment was Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul’s partnership which added significant runs to the scoreboard. Pant’s historic feat of scoring twin centuries in the match was a notable achievement in the cricketing world.
