Noida buzzed with excitement as Haryana Thunder clinched the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) 2026 title in a nail-biting final against Delhi Dangle Warriors. Former Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh couldn’t hold back his praise for the edge-of-the-seat showdown at Noida Indoor Stadium.

Singh highlighted how the match kept fans hooked right until the end. ‘It was an incredibly thrilling encounter,’ he said. ‘The score was tied at 4-4 until the final moments, making it impossible to predict the winner. Unlike most bouts where the outcome is clear early on, this one delivered non-stop drama.’

Haryana Thunder ultimately triumphed 5-4, securing their championship glory on Sunday night. Singh lauded the tournament as a massive success, attributing India’s rising wrestling prowess to the advanced sports infrastructure developed over the past decade under government leadership.

‘Wrestling has seen tremendous growth in India,’ Singh noted. ‘Our performance on international stages is already strong, and the future looks even brighter. India has the potential to win the most medals in wrestling across all sports.’

He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure for consistent improvements in sports facilities. ‘Since PM Modi took office, sports infrastructure has seen steady enhancements, ensuring no major hurdles for athletes.’

The PWL 2026 final not only showcased top-tier talent but also underscored wrestling’s deepening roots in India. With such high-stakes battles, the sport is poised for global dominance, inspiring the next generation of wrestlers to aim higher.
