Puneri Paltan has officially punched their ticket to the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 12 playoffs, securing a top-eight finish with a convincing 36-23 win over the Tamil Thalaivas. The match took place at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi.
The Paltan’s success was largely driven by the exceptional raiding skills of Pankaj Mohite, who scored nine points, and the all-around contribution of Aslam Inamdar, adding seven points. The team’s defense also shone, with Gurdeep delivering a formidable High Five. The victory marked Puneri Paltan as the second team to guarantee a playoff spot this season.
From the initial whistle, Puneri Paltan took control of the game, with captain Aslam Inamdar leading the charge. The early raid dominance resulted in an All Out against the Tamil Thalaivas, setting a challenging tone for the opposition. The Thalaivas found it difficult to score consistently in the face of Puneri Paltan’s aggressive strategy.
Pankaj Mohite’s sharp raiding and Aslam Inamdar’s strategic play gave the Paltan a distinct advantage. Despite Arjun Deshwal’s efforts, the Thalaivas’ defense struggled to contain the onslaught. A critical moment came when Mohite executed a two-point raid, pushing the Thalaivas further back. By the end of the first half, Puneri Paltan had established a commanding nine-point lead, leading 20-11.
The Tamil Thalaivas displayed resilience in the second half, with Nitesh Kumar and Ronak making strong defensive plays, including a notable Super Tackle on Pankaj Mohite. However, Puneri Paltan managed to weather the storm, with Mohite quickly regaining his scoring rhythm. Aslam Inamdar’s calm leadership and efficient raiding, combined with strong defensive support from Vishal Bhardwaj and Gurdeep, kept the Paltan in control. The final All Out, courtesy of Aslam Inamdar, sealed the comfortable victory and confirmed Puneri Paltan’s playoff qualification.
