Fans of Indian cricket can rejoice as captain Suryakumar Yadav is showing signs of a strong return to the sport. He was recently seen practicing in the nets, demonstrating his signature batting style. This display of skill suggests he is nearing peak physical condition. Prior to his injury, Yadav had a stellar IPL 2025 campaign for the Mumbai Indians, where he was the second-highest run-getter, accumulating 717 runs in 16 innings. He maintained an impressive average of 65.18 and a strike rate above 167, which included five half-centuries. He underwent sports hernia surgery in June and has been recuperating at the National Cricket Academy’s Centre of Excellence (CoE). With the Asia Cup 2025 commencing on September 9, his availability is a major advantage for the Indian team. India’s opening match is scheduled against the UAE on September 10, and Yadav’s return adds significant firepower to the team.
