On Vinesh Phogat’s exit from Olympics, JP Nadda said; The whole country is with Vinesh

On Vinesh Phogat being disqualified from the Olympics, Health Minister JP Nadda has said that the whole country is with her. The Health Minister said, “This is a question of the country, the whole country stands with her. It is unfortunate that we are trying to divide this also into pro and anti.”

In Rajya Sabha, Union Minister JP Nadda said, “The whole country stands with Vinesh Phogat. PM called her “Champion of Champions” yesterday and PM’s voice is the voice of 140 crore people. Unfortunately we are dividing it between the ruling party and the opposition. Unfortunately, the opposition does not have any concrete issue which they want to discuss which the ruling party is ready for… I want to assure you that the Government of India, Sports Ministry and IOC tried to find redressal at all forums.”

The opposition walked out of the Rajya Sabha on the issue of Vinesh Phogat being disqualified from the Paris Olympics. Regarding this, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said, “They (the opposition) think that they are the only ones who are feeling sad. The whole country is in pain because of Vinesh Phogat. Everyone is sharing the situation, but to capitalize on it, politicize it, is the biggest insult to that girl. That girl still has a long way to go.”
