In a pulsating encounter at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground-2 in Bengaluru, Namibia clinched a thrilling six-run victory over Scotland in the seventh warm-up match for the T20 World Cup 2026. The match showcased explosive batting from both sides, setting the tone for high-scoring affairs in the upcoming tournament.

Namibia posted a formidable 226 for four in their 20 overs, powered by standout performances from Lauren Steenkamp and Zane Frylinck. Steenkamp smashed 51 runs off just 24 balls, while Frylinck unleashed a brutal 88 off 44 deliveries, including 13 fours and three sixes. Their aggressive strokeplay put Scotland under immense pressure from the outset.

Chasing a daunting target, Scotland fought valiantly but fell agonizingly short at 220 for five. Brandon McMullen’s blistering 95 off 39 balls, adorned with eight sixes and six fours, nearly turned the game on its head. Captain Richie Berrington added a crucial 46, but Namibia’s bowlers held their nerve in the final overs to seal the win.

Meanwhile, in the eighth warm-up clash, Afghanistan dominated West Indies by 23 runs. Batting first, Afghanistan reached 182 for six, with Ibrahim Zadran top-scoring on 51 and Rahmanullah Gurbaz contributing 43. Gulbadin Naib and Rashid Khan picked up key wickets to restrict the Caribbean side.

West Indies managed 159 for seven in response, despite Matthew Forde’s unbeaten 52 off 26 balls and Rovman Powell’s 32. Azmatullah Omarzai and Mujeeb Ur Rahman starred with two wickets each, ensuring Afghanistan’s comfortable victory.

The ninth warm-up between Pakistan and Ireland in Colombo was abandoned without a ball bowled due to relentless rain, leaving fans disappointed. These matches highlight the competitive edge as teams gear up for T20 World Cup 2026.
