The Asia Cup 2025 final concluded with India victorious, but the subsequent events have caused significant issues. Mohsin Naqvi, the ACC Chairman and head of PCB, took the Asia Cup trophy after the Indian team refused to accept it from him, leading to a dispute. The usual protocol involves the trophy being delivered to the BCCI in Mumbai. Naqvi is ready to award medals to the Indian cricketers, but on the condition of a ceremonial event where he would be the focus. The Indian team, along with the BCCI, has refused to participate in any ceremony involving Naqvi, citing his repeated anti-India comments during the tournament. This has resulted in a delay in the presentation ceremony. While individual awards were presented to players, the champions did not have a unified celebration. Pakistan players received their medals, however, India’s stand against Naqvi has caused a standoff, and the trophy remains unavailable to the Indian team.
