MD. Siraj: Team India’s fast bowler Mohammad Siraj has been appointed to the post of DSP. On Friday (October 11), the Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) handed over the appointment letter to him, whereby he officially took charge as Deputy Superintendent of Police.
Let us tell you that after Team India becomes champion in T20 World Cup 2024, Telangana government had announced to give Group-1 job to Siraj. Apart from this, two-time world champion boxer Nikhat Zareen was also given Group-1 job in DSP cadre. For this, the state government amended the Telangana (Regulation of Appointments in Public Services, Rationalization of Staff Pattern and Pay Structure) Act 1994. Nikhat Zareen took charge on September 18, and now Siraj has also been appointed.
Siraj has also been allotted 600 square yards of land in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad by the Telangana government, where he will build his house.
Mohammad Siraj will rest in the ongoing 3 T20 match series against Bangladesh, but will be seen playing in the upcoming 3 Test match home series against New Zealand. Siraj made his debut against the Kiwis in November 2017 and so far has taken 78 wickets in 29 Tests, 71 in 44 ODIs, and 14 wickets in 16 T20 Internationals.
