    Sri Lanka suffered their first loss in the Asia Cup 2025, falling to Bangladesh in their Super-4 match. Bangladesh also managed to avenge their earlier loss in the league stage. Despite losing three wickets in the final eight balls, Bangladesh won by four wickets. Sri Lanka’s Dasun Shanaka’s explosive half-century and two wickets wasn’t enough as Towhid Hridoy and Saif Hassan guided Bangladesh to an impressive win.

    Chasing a target of 169, Bangladesh successfully reached the score in 19.5 overs, losing six wickets. Saif Hassan, the opening batsman for Bangladesh, played an excellent innings. He and captain Litton Das added 59 runs for the second wicket. Litton Das scored 23 runs from 16 balls which included 3 boundaries. Saif scored 61 runs off 45 balls, with 2 fours and 4 sixes.

    Towhid Hridoy scored 58 runs from 37 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Dasun Shanaka took two wickets in the last over, adding excitement to the match, but couldn’t secure a win for his team. Wanindu Hasaranga and Dasun Shanaka each took two wickets for Sri Lanka. Nuwan Thushara and Dushmantha Chameera each took a wicket. Earlier in the match, Sri Lanka reached 168 runs, thanks to a strong performance by Dasun Shanaka.
