Raipur. The SECL Chhattisgarh Open Golf Championship was held from 25 to 28 February at the Fairway Golf and Lake Resort in Nawa Raipur, in which professional golfers of the country and the world showed their jauhar. In the final round on Friday, Shaurya Bhattacharya of Delhi won a prize money of one crore rupees with a score of 249. After the success of the Chhattisgarh Open Golf Championship, Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) President and former cricketer Kapil Dev has praised the golf courses and great arrangements.
In a video shared on the official Instagram account of Chhattisgarh Golf Open, Kapil Dev shared his experiences and said – “I enjoyed coming to Chhattisgarh, Raipur. Golf course is extremely spectacular, arrangements are tremendous. This place is so beautiful that it is difficult to describe it in words. We want this tournament to be every year and Raipur should be identified as a golf destination. ”

The successful event of the Chhattisgarh Open Golf Championship has established Chhattisgarh as an emerging golf destination. It is now expected that Raipur and Chhattisgarh can host international golf tournaments in the coming years. Shaurya Bhattacharya becomes champion
The title of SECL Chhattisgarh Open Golf Championship was won by Delhi’s Shaurya Bhattacharya with a score of 249 and received a prize money of one crore rupees. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw, while encouraging Shaurya Bhattacharya, congratulated him for the victory and gave a check for the reward. PGTI President Kapil Dev, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Bilaspur Director (Personal) Biranchi Das were present on the occasion.
Bhattacharya’s great performance
Shaurya Bhattacharya (64-61–61-63), who was leading by five shots overnight, won his second professional victory on February 28. 22 -year -old Shaurya, who was the PGTI Emerging Player of the Year in 2024, dropped just one bogie during the tournament. Bhattacharya received a winning check of Rs 15 lakh, from 59th place in the Tata Steel PGTI rankings to second place.
Sachin Baisoya became runner -up
Delhi’s Sachin Baisoya (67-62-64-61) scored the best score of the previous day and climbed up five places to a score of 22 under 254 and became the runner-up on the cross-69 course. N. of Sri Lanka Thangaraja (66-63-62-64) scored a score of 64 and finished third with a score of 21 under 255. Sachin Baisoya ended the week as runners -up by placing an eagle, seven cords and a bogie. The runner-up check of Rs 10 lakh to Sachin Bisoya helped him move from 20th to third place in the PGTI rankings.
