IPL 2025: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has included South African young batsman Divald Brevis in the team for the remaining season of IPL 2025. Brevis has been replaced in the team in place of fast bowler Gurjapneet Singh. CSK had an empty slot of a foreign player, taking advantage of which he signed this talented player.
Interestingly, in the auction held last year, the base price of Brevis was only Rs 75 lakh, but CSK connected him to his team for Rs 2.2 crore. This is considered a big step for the five -time champion team, as Brevis is counted among the most talented young cricketers in the world.
Dewald Brevis has been a part of Mumbai Indians
Although Brevis has played only a few matches for South Africa at senior level so far, he had got recognition in the cricket world many years ago. He has often been compared to veteran AB de Villiers. In IPL, Bravis has already played 10 matches for Mumbai Indians and also remains part of Mumbai team in MLC and SA20.
Dewald Brevis shown bang in SA20
The strike rate of Bravis in the 81 T20 matches played so far has been around 145. He is in great form for home team Titans and is also continuously scoring runs in List A and First Class cricket. He also performed well this year in the SA20 League and topped the top 10 runs scorers with a strike rate of 184.17.
CSK is at the bottom of the points table
CSK is at the bottom of the points table this season and has been able to win only 2 win in the 7 matches played so far. In such a situation, Brevis joining the team can become a new hope for CSK.
CSK Rituraj has also out of Gaikwad
Let us know that Divalad Brevis is the second replacement player of this season for CSK. Earlier, Mumbai’s young batsman Ayush Mhatre was included in the team in place of regular captain Rituraj Gaikwad. After Rituraj, the command of the team was handed over to MS Honi. After which the team has played 2 matches under Dhoni’s leadership, out of which 1 has won and 1 has won. Now CSK’s next match will be against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on 20 April.
