IPL 2024: In the 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians were defeated by Rajasthan Royals by 6 wickets at their own home ground. This was Rajasthan’s third consecutive win in the season. It was Mumbai’s third consecutive defeat.

Batting first at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Mumbai scored 125 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal took 3-3 wickets. Whereas from Mumbai, Tilak Verma scored 32 runs and Hardik Pandya scored 34 runs. Rajasthan achieved the target of 126 runs in 15.3 overs. Riyan Parag scored a half-century. He remained not out after scoring 54 runs. Whereas for Mumbai, Akash Madhwal took maximum 3 wickets.

Three batsmen including Rohit Sharma were out on zero.

After losing the toss and opting to bat first, Mumbai had a very bad start. Rohit Sharma, Naman Dheer and Dewald Brevis were out for zero. Ishan Kishan returned to the pavilion after scoring 16 runs. After this, Hardik Pandya scored 34 runs in 21 balls and Tilak Verma scored 32 runs in 29 balls, but as soon as the captain was out, the batsmen were seen struggling for one run each. Mumbai Indians lost the 9th wicket for 114 runs in the 19th over. Tim David was out after scoring 17 runs in 24 balls. Nandre Berger sent him to the pavilion.
