IPL 2024: In the Indian Premier League, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 7 wickets. Along with this, this is the first time in this season that a team lost the match on its home ground. Earlier, only the home team had won the first 9 matches.
In the match played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB scored 182 runs after losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Virat Kohli had played an unbeaten inning of 83 runs, but thanks to the brilliant innings of Sunil Narine (47) and Venkatesh Iyer (50), KKR easily won the match with 19 balls remaining.
KKR was given a flying start by the pair of Phil Salt (30) and Sunil Narine (47). Both the batsmen added 85 runs in the powerplay itself. When both the batsmen returned to the pavilion, 92 runs were on the scoreboard till the 8th over. After this, Venkatesh Iyer’s partnership of 75 runs for the third wicket sealed the team’s victory.
