Following India’s loss in the second T20I against Australia, former Australian skipper Aaron Finch has strongly urged for the inclusion of left-arm paceman Arshdeep Singh in the team’s playing XI for the third fixture. Finch voiced his expectation that Singh will feature in Hobart, expressing skepticism about any other decision. He articulated his view on T20 batting strategies, suggesting that a balanced approach with fewer specialist batters can foster greater responsibility. “Batters subconsciously assume someone else will get the job done. But if you play one fewer batter, it’s amazing how often the rest step up,” Finch explained. He believes India’s current selection experiments are part of their World Cup preparation. Analyzing the bowling effort, Finch pointed out that the bowlers were put in a difficult position due to an inadequate total. He commended Abhishek Sharma for his resilient 68, but also critiqued the strike rotation during his partnership with Harshit Rana, deeming it an area for improvement. “Rotating strike is not one of their strengths, and that’s what we saw when Abhishek and Harshit were batting,” Finch concluded.
