India exhibited a dominant performance, securing a six-wicket win against Pakistan in the Super Fours of the Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai. The Indian side successfully chased down the 172-run target with seven balls remaining, driven by Abhishek Sharma’s impressive 74 runs and Shubman Gill’s valuable 47. The match began with a strong opening partnership by Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, with Sharma hitting a six off the first ball from Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi. Despite Pakistan’s attempts to take wickets after the drinks break, India maintained control. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav praised the team’s performance, especially commending the efforts of Gill and Sharma. He noted the team’s resilience and the contributions of players like Dube, while also mentioning the fielding coach’s post-match feedback. The victory placed India at the top of the Super 4 table, ahead of Bangladesh. Sri Lanka and Pakistan are yet to secure a win and are positioned in third and fourth place, respectively.
