India’s cricket team won the Asia Cup 2025 on September 28, with a five-wicket victory against Pakistan in the final. This win secured India’s ninth Asia Cup title. A concerning situation has arisen because the Indian team did not receive their medals or the Asia Cup trophy after their win. It’s reported that Mohsin Naqvi, who leads the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), has retained possession of the trophy. This issue prompted the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to strongly object during its Annual General Meeting (AGM). BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla criticized Mohsin Naqvi’s actions, asserting that the Asia Cup trophy is not personal property and should be presented to the rightful winners without delay.
