India to Tour Ireland for 2 T20s in June 2026: BCCI Schedule

In a major announcement for cricket fans, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the schedule for Team India's upcoming tour of Ireland. Set for June 2026, the series will feature two high-stakes T20 Internationals, marking another exciting chapter in the bilateral rivalry.

The action kicks off on June 26 in Belfast, followed by the second T20 on June 28 at the same venue. This tour underscores India's continued engagement with Ireland, being the fourth visit in recent years after trips in 2018, 2022, and 2023. Notably, it will be India's first return to Belfast since 2007, reigniting memories of past encounters.

Irish cricket enthusiasts have always buzzed with excitement for Indian visits, and this time promises more of the same. The BCCI has a tradition of sending competitive squads, often blending youth with experience. Speculation is rife on whether Suryakumar Yadav, captain of the World Cup-winning side, will lead or if a fresh young team will take the field.

India boasts a perfect record against Ireland in T20Is, winning all eight previous clashes. This dominance adds pressure on the hosts to break through.

Meanwhile, Ireland's 2026 calendar is packed. Before facing India, they'll play a tri-series T20 with West Indies and Pakistan from May 28 to June 4. Later, a five-match ODI series against Afghanistan from August 5 to 14 awaits. The decision to tour Afghanistan, amid ongoing concerns over women's rights there, has sparked debate.

Ireland's CEO Sarah Keane clarified, 'This isn't driven by finances or legal obligations but serves our organization's broader interests.' As preparations gear up, fans worldwide await what could be another memorable series.
