India’s cricket team secured a memorable victory in the 2025 Asia Cup final, defeating Pakistan by five wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Throughout the tournament, India demonstrated its dominance, defeating Pakistan in all three encounters. The BCCI responded by announcing a substantial reward of 21 crore rupees for the players and support staff. The goal is to uplift the team and inspire younger players to excel in the future. The cricket community widely applauded the BCCI’s initiative.

The series was particularly significant, as it marked the first cricket matches between the two nations after the tragic events of April 22nd (Pahalgam attack) and May 7th (Operation Sindoor), which resulted in 26 deaths. The matches were emotionally charged. A controversial point was the lack of post-match handshakes from the Indian team towards the Pakistani players, which caused a stir. This behavior was evident even after the final match.

India’s victory marked their ninth Asia Cup title in the tournament’s 17-edition history. The previous wins came in 1984, 1988, 1990-91, 1995, 2010, 2016, 2018, and 2023. India continues its reign as the most successful team, successfully defending its championship title.
