Mohammed Shami: There is good news for fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who is out of Team India. Even though his name is not in the Team India announced for the Australia tour, he can still be a part of Team India for this tour. Before the Border-Gavaskar series, a big update has come that Shami can be added to Team India on this tour. However, a condition has also been kept for this.

In fact, only 2 days ago the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced Team India for the upcoming Test tour of Australia, in which fast bowler Mohammed Shami did not get a place. Now the doors of this series are open for him. According to the report of Indian Express, Shami can be included in the team on one condition.

The report claims, “The decision on the inclusion of Mohammed Shami in the team will be taken after the fast bowler proves his fitness in the Ranji Trophy. As reported earlier, Shami can play in Bengal’s fourth round match against Karnataka in Bengaluru in the first week of November after Diwali.

Actually, Mohammed Shami has been out of Team India since the 50-over ODI World Cup final last year. He is away from the field due to injury and surgery. Shami had recently said that he has started bowling, but he would like to play some domestic matches before joining the national team. Now if Shami performs well in Ranji, then he can return to Team India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

In the team that has been released at present, in the absence of Shami, the selectors have included young Prasidh Krishna and Harshit Rana. It is expected that this young bowler will bowl along with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj and Akashdeep in Australia.

A total of 18 players got places

BCCI has selected a strong team of 18 members apart from three reserve players for the five-match series between India and Australia to run from November 2024 to January 2025. On this tour, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy and fast bowler Harshit Rana have been included in the team for the first time.
