In a breathtaking display of batting firepower, Alyssa Healy smashed a career-defining 158 in her final ODI, propelling Australia to a mammoth 409 for 7 against India in the third ODI at Hobart’s Ninja Cricket Stadium on March 1. The Australian captain, bidding farewell to the 50-over format, set the tone with a measured start before unleashing a barrage of boundaries.

Healy took her time initially, reaching her half-century off 49 balls, but then shifted gears explosively. She raced to her eighth ODI ton off 79 balls, continuing her assault with 27 fours and 2 sixes in a 98-ball stay. Dismissed by Sneh Rana, Healy’s innings will be etched in cricket lore as one of the most memorable farewell knocks.

Joining the party at No. 4, wicketkeeper-batter Beth Mooney remained unbeaten on 106 from 84 balls, featuring 10 fours and a six. The duo forged a crucial 145-run third-wicket stand that crushed Indian spirits. Georgia Wareham contributed a brisk 62 off 52, while Nicola Carey added 34 off 15, ensuring Australia’s total soared.

India’s decision to bowl first after winning the toss backfired spectacularly. The bowlers leaked runs at will: N Chanu (2/106), Kashvee Gautam (1/83), Deepti Sharma (1/90), Sneh Rana (2/66), and Renuka Singh (1/64) all struggled. With the first two ODIs already lost, India now faces an uphill battle to chase 410 and salvage pride in the series.
