Ahmedabad is buzzing with excitement as cricket enthusiasts from across the globe descend upon the city for the T20 World Cup 2026 final between India and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Scheduled for Sunday evening at 7 PM, the match has ignited hopes nationwide for an Indian victory.

Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi extended a heartfelt welcome to the international fans. Speaking to the media, he highlighted the prestige of hosting the finale at the world’s largest cricket venue. ‘Fans from India and around the world have gathered for this historic clash on Gujarat soil. I welcome everyone with open arms,’ he said.

Adding to the anticipation, coach Manik Ghosh from Ranchi’s cricket academy praised India’s form. With the exception of Abhishek Sharma, the batsmen are in top shape, and Jasprit Bumrah is dominating with the ball. Though Varun Chakravarthy struggled in the semi-final, expectations are high for his performance in the final.

T20 cricket’s unpredictability keeps everyone on edge—any player can turn the game. Ghosh advised the toss winner to bat first, noting that chasing scores is always tricky.

Spiritual support poured in from Ujjain’s Mahamandaleshwar Gyan Das Maharaj, who prayed at Baba Mahakal’s feet for India’s triumph over New Zealand. Similar prayers echoed in Rajasthan’s Churu, where fans united in hope.

A young fan emphasized the pressure on both teams, stressing India’s need not just to win but to make history with their first T20 World Cup victory against New Zealand. Batting first and posting a big total could be key.

Another supporter outlined a winning strategy: a 200-plus score and early wickets of New Zealand openers Allen and Seifert would tilt the scales.

From Mysore, Karnataka Army District President Tejas Lokesh Gowda voiced confidence in India’s performance, dreaming of a World Cup win that fulfills 1.4 billion aspirations.
