Great performance of Bastar player in World Muay Thai Championship, Yuvraj Singh won gold medal

Raipur. A player from Bastar won the gold medal in the World Muay Thai Championship by displaying an excellent game. The Indian Muay Thai team took part in the competition held from 12th to 19th September under the aegis of United Muay Thai Association India (UMAI). Yuvraj Singh was the only player from Chhattisgarh out of 17 players who participated in the World Muay Thai Championship held at Paragon Hall in Bangkok. Playing in the 14-15 age group and 81+ weight category, Yuvraj made the country, state and his district proud by winning the gold medal in the “Muay Talai” event.

At the prize distribution ceremony of the Muay Talai event, President of Muay Thai International Organization IFMA Tapso and Stephen Fox (Secretary General-IFMA) awarded Yuvraj Singh with the gold medal. Earlier, in the Contest Event and the Vaye Crew Event, Yuvraj reached the quarter finals but was out of the medal race.

15-year-old Yuvraj Singh from remote Bastar region Jagdalpur is the only selected player from Chhattisgarh who participated in this World Muay Thai Championship. Yuvraj established the region on the sports world stage with his golden success by participating in the international competition for the fourth consecutive time.
