In a training hall in Madhya Pradesh, Sohail Khan is preparing for his next competition, solidifying his reputation in the martial arts world. Known as the ‘Golden Boy of MP,’ he is making waves on a global scale. He made history in 2025 by winning a silver medal at the Senior Kudo World Cup in Bulgaria. He is now preparing to compete at the 4th Kudo Asian Championship. His journey to this point has been marked by resilience and hard work.

Sohail’s early training included karate, taekwondo, wushu, and kickboxing. He gained national medals in each of these disciplines. Seeking a more encompassing martial art, he chose Kudo. The driving force behind his commitment was his mother, whose sacrifices fueled his determination.

Sohail’s path was challenging, involving many sacrifices in his training. These sacrifices yielded several successes. In 2017, he won the Junior Kudo World Championship. He achieved the quarterfinals at the 2023 Senior Kudo World Championship. He earned a bronze medal at the 2024 Euro-Asian Cup. He won the silver medal at the 2025 Senior Kudo World Cup. His 2025 performance included victories over opponents from Pakistan, Bulgaria, and Lithuania, leading him to the final against France.

Sohail emphasizes that Kudo goes beyond mere sport, encompassing striking, grappling, and mental fortitude. He highlights the necessity of complete preparation, trust in training, and the capacity to stay composed under pressure. He views true champions as those who make sacrifices and maintain focus.

Currently training for the Asian Championship, Sohail credits Dr. Mohammad Aijaz Khan as an essential mentor. He believes that with determination and hard work, any fighter can achieve success and make their mark.
